Filmmaker Bruce Conner died Monday at the age of 74. His films were made from bits of old documentaries and educational reels, and from cultural snippets. They were acts of resistance to a world drowning in its own image. His most famous film, A Movie, was Conner's chronicle of the first half of the 20th Century. Photos and three videos included.
