I don't know if evidence will stop them or not. Apparently we'll never know. But before you can claim that stating MLK was Republican is a lie, you must prove two things:
1. He was not in fact a registered Republican; and
2. Those saying he was know the statement to be false.
Instead we have Rev. Lowery's indignation and sarcasm...as if a person should have known only Republicans wore KKK hoods. It is not even controversial that most lynch victims--black and white--were registered Republicans. And in Rev. Lowery's youth, most blacks WERE Republicans. So it is reasonable and historical to assume MLK was at least for some time a Republican.
However, I don't believe MLK's party affiliation should have any bearing on who blacks today should vote for. I am opposed to these billboards because they insinuate that blacks should put their minds on hold and vote the party that MLK belonged to.

Why in the hell would they have his voter registration card? Boy, talk about a reach...
By the way, do you have your great grandfather's voter registration card?
How about your own?
