If they can get the oil without ruining the landscape that would be great. But where is the water they need going to come from?

We now have the technology to recycle the water and use it over and over, being done in Texas and will soon start in Colorado.

Ever notice how the 'anti-drilling crowd' always uses descriptions like this for anywhere with oil. They would calling a 'festering cesspool' a 'pristine lake' to try and prevent drilling.

        Drill Here,

        Drill Now,

        Pay Less!!

At what point does it make more sense to develop renewable energy sources rather than squeezing every last drop of oil out of rocks at the expense of both the local and global environment? Just a thought.

This article reminds me of descriptions of junkies trying to find where they're going to get there next fix when this supply will - inevitably - run out.

Americans (and the world) must reduce their dependence on oil, for the sake of global economy and the environment. It's not going to be easy by any means and this article is a clear example of that fact. Big Oil is trying to make extracting oil from rocks more attractive than developing renewable energy sources. It's just an excuse to charge us 10 bucks a gallon several years down the road.
