"The lawsuit said the defendants had violated U.S. racketeering laws including mail and wire fraud and money laundering. Chevron and Swiss oil trading firm Vitol were also accused of breaching their fiduciary duties."

"The corruption of the United Nations Oil-For-Food Programme (OFFP) has been described as the largest financial fraud in human history, but its impact on the people of Iraq went far beyond financial loss," the lawsuit begins. "The corruption of the OFFP affected the very lives and health of the Iraqi people."

Gee "STONERS", I see that in your little post you left out the part about the dozens and dozens of EUROPEAN companies who were involved in this.

Libs always seem to conveniently excuse the rest of the world, but hammer down every last flaw when it comes to U.S. companies.

Since Americans are too wimpy to impeach and jail a corrupt war criminal, perhaps after January 2009 the Iraqis can help us with the job.

    The Quiet Oil-for-Food Scandal

We aren't going to hear much about the corporations that paid bribes in the Oil-for-Food scandal because Bush's family, friends and closest advisors are in it knee-deep...

...Last week, the Independent Committee investigating the Oil-for-Food program (OFF) released its final report detailing how Saddam Hussein's regime skimmed just under two percent from the otherwise successful relief effort by charging kickbacks and "inland transportation" fees to companies doing business with Iraq...

...The Scandal Pimps have been low-key because the final report of the Committee -- known as the Volcker Committee for its chair, former Fed Chairman Paul Volcker -- offers further evidence that what they've worked so hard -- and so successfully -- to portray as a massive UN scandal has always been a relatively modest corporate scandal, interesting more for the players involved than because of its scale....

Not surprising to see you dabbling in misinformation once again. If any single individual is left to be charged, you should point your finger at Kofi Annan. Of course, he denied it was happening even as his palms were dripping with grease.

Here is another interesting headlines today:

"Iraqi minister: Deal seeks to end security contractors' immunity".

It is high time that these contractors who kill & rape innocent Iraqi civilians face Iraqi court and Iraqi justice. I wish they include "water boarding" as a method to obtain statements from those who commit crimes against Iraqi people. It a civilized country like USA says it is legal, then why not Iraq, its new colony in the Middle East. Follow the leader folks.

It should be gallows for murder & rape. I also wish the new law includes US soldiers to be fair.

They should be suing the Swiss Banks for the money that Saddam and his family deposited there to hide.

They should also go after "American War Profiteers" who have looted Iraq since 2003, starting Bush, Cheney, Halliburton, Rice, Powell, Gates, Blackwater etc.,
