    You might want to pay attention to current events, Oscar. Pakistan is routing Taliban and al Qaeda elements out of their safe-havens even as I type these words.

      latimes is usually a fairly reliable source. As reliable as any press outlet. I'm gonna choose to believe that it's true, and it is certainly good news.

      I'll also choose to believe that Dumbya will find a way to f*ck this up, also.

      Are they being "routed" faster than they are growing would seem to be the question. I certainly hope they are.

      Should we be helping the Pakis in their efforts? How can this most effectively be done?

      We armed Saddam to balance against Iran and that didn't turn out well for us.

      We armed the Mujahadin in Afghanistan and they used those Stingers to kick out the Russians - and the Taliban filled to void and got those weapons.

      Might be a tricky call.
