The enemy has found sanctuary in Pakistan for more than six, while the Bush administration has failed to take effective action against them. Now they have used their bases there to re-establish themselves as a threat to the government and people of Afghanistan. As in nearly every other area of responsibility, the administration does to little, to late,. and with little effect.

Thank God that this is an election year. We have the opportunity to tell our "leaders" that we will no longer tolerate such gross mismanagement and inattention to our vital interests.

Not only Afghanistan but Pakistan also. And Pakistan is a nuclear state.

You know -- al Quida is certainly a bunch of bad guys. We definitely need to go find and kill them. And... better late than never. But really, I think the knucklehead Taliban are really more dangerous. THEY are the ones who took over Afghanistan and essentially tortured an entire populace. Well, half of it anyway. It would be wise not to forget about them. I suspect that they are actually more effective at spreading hatred and idiocy than al Quida.

If you are referring to inside Afganistan and Pakistan I would tend to agree with you. However, I do not see the Taliban having much of an infulence outside the general region of Afganistan and Pakistan. Something that people need to keep in mind when criticizing how well the search for UBL is going...it is extremely difficult for NATO and or U.S. forces to operate in the border region and not stand out like a lump of coal in a snow bank. The people in those areas are extremely loyal to UBL and his people, they are not going to just jump up and point him out.

With al Quaeda in the border regions of Afghanistan and Pakistan, they are in an excellent position to aid the Taliban and also ferment an islamic revolution in Pakistan.

          >to take a step they had long resisted.

Why had they resisted it. If they knew they were there they should have went in immediately! Instead they give the group of radical psychos a chance to grow?

Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda are both the products of American agencies...

            Common can't you see?

Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda were not founded off the hatred of America nor anything America related. It wasn't until Saudi Arabia chose to ask America for help instead of Bin Laden that Bin Laden really wanted to do damage to America. In fact Al Qaeda is thought to be founded off the writing of Sayyid Qutb who preached that the Muslim world would disappear if they did not start enforcing more strict sharia law. Al Qaeda was founded on the idea that to save the Muslim world from disappearing, it needed to weed out the Muslims who were "apostates" or fake Muslims. Really it was a movement to rid the Muslim world of any other influence.

If this was leaked, why isn't someone being arrested and put in jail? It is one thing to out one agent in the states, not on a mission. But to jeopardize an entire operation , let alone the operators invoided, is treason and needs to be dealt with harishly! We are allowing our political ideals cloud our judgement in fighting this war! We have Politician afraid to put their differences aside to unit the country for a common cause, we have General Officers that won't make a decision, we have Military Lawyers that will not allow the soldiers to fix and kill the enemy. God help us, cause we can't help ourselves!!

Yes. It's called treason and it's punishable by death. Those responsible for outing 'one' agent should be put to death. Outing 'one' agent puts every single person in contact with that agent in danger, not to mention that agent him/herself. Anyone who commits such a treasonous act should be tried and put in a gas chamber.

"If this was leaked, why isn't someone being arrested and put in jail?..."

Codi, Codi, Codi.........Consider for a moment the effect this "leak" has had on the price of oil today. Consider who makes money beyond comprehension on these increases on oil as a commodity and the effect on pump prices. Consider who stands to gain the most from these policies and then follow the money.

Try to comprehend the big picture and the ultimate reason for this entire war in Iraq. Yeah, I know, I'll wave my flag for democracy, freedom, and the American way in Iraq. I'm a patriot!

Surprise, surprise, surprise. Put somebody in jail? It may happen. Some dumb flunky who thought he/she was "doing their job" usually gets it in the shorts while some other people, lots of them, make an unimaginable pile of money in a matter of minutes.

All those brave soldiers, some good generals, and some damn fine people - just pawns in a game beyond their ken.

                Mission accomplished.

If that is the going ideal, then this war is lost. NO ONE is serving for the nation, just for themselves! We are only chasing our tails. Power has become more important then service. We should all be prepared for shira(sp?)law!

The 100,000 thousand dollar wire transfer to Mohammad Atta, the supposed lead hyjacker on 9-11 , was sent by the Pakistani secret service.

OK here is what I think.

Elections are going to be held later this year and Bush Government wants to show the American Nation that the policy they adapted in Pakistan is correct. All that to fool the sleeping American nation ;) and yea we are all being fooled. Thumbs Up!

The attacks being launched in Pakistan are solely because of US Army led by Bush Administration who were allowed to enter Pakistan in 2004 by (Mush/Busharraf) - What has happened because of that is

Pakistani Forces and Pakistani People are fighting against each other and all that is being supervised by Bush-arraf.

With so much of injustice and corrupted super power's, peace can never prevail in this world.
