In any war or conflict, it is fair to report deaths on both sides. However, after dropping 1000lb bomb from above and to report only 3 civilians were killed is pure insanity.
Has anyone who reports such stats, ever gone and seen what the area that received the bomb looks like? It is all rubble and body parts.
Amazing that these stats are used to justify a war.

Why is it I doubt you ever have gone and seen an area in which a 1,000 pound bomb was dropped? Body parts? More likely vaporized if hit by a 1,000 pound bomb.
As for rubble, in a city, yes. In a rural community, no. More like a crater.
Claiming you have any first-hand knowledge of such things is pure insanity. What size is your straight jacket?
There was no report of a bomb in the story. Perhaps you are just upset about the cease-fire between Israel and Hamas.

"make love not war"
Nice thought and all, but in a world where people are willing to fly themselves into buildings in order to kill as many Americans as possible, when suicicde bombers go into crowded markets just to kill some jews, somtimes it's just not possible.
Thinking that way when people are willing to give their life to kill you and as many other people as possible will do nothing but get you and others killed.

Just because we have the might to occupy a country does not make it right. Republicans have an inability to put the shoe on the other foot., a genetic disorder.

Did we have enemies in Baghdad that threatened to invade US and destroy us? Depends upon who you ask in this country.
So,there we are with all the modern WMD and occupying a country and calling everyone else who was born and living there our "enemies".
Gee, who are our friends? I guess you have to wait and see who gets in to the mansion on 1/20/2009.

Yes but not you. When I reported for an European newspaper in 70's when Pakistan dropped US made 1000lb Napalm bomb on a market place in Cox Bazar in the erstwhile E. Pakistan which was fighting for independence from military dictators in Karachi. Give me your mailing address, I will send you the pictures.
I was also there when scum bag Richard Nixon threatened Indian PM Mrs. Indira Gandhi if she refuses to stop the liberation of E. Pakistan that he will send the Sixth Fleet to the Indian Ocean.
I was also there when she said to him "BRING THEM ON".
I was also there when the Egyptian President closed the Suez Canal to all US war ships from going in to the Indian Ocean.

447 deaths is a tragedy. 447 good people died serving their country. I mourn their death. More importantly, I celebrate their life. I am proud to be from the same nation as these 447. I am proud that 447 of my countrymen believed strongly enough in their country that they are willing to travel to a foreign land to take up arms at tremendous risk to themselves.
No amount of well wishing can fill the void of a lost son, brother, husband, father, daughter, sister, wife or mother. The scars will show on the families for a lifetime.
Let us then resolve to defeat the enemy, secure the peace, train the leaders, and then bring our sons and daughters home.
Let the dead have their place of honor in victory. Hooyah.

Who's the 'enemy' in a country we invaded with no connection to the events of 9/11? What constitutes a 'victory'?
These soldiers died honorably, because they served their nation honorably, no matter that the 'war' isn't one that should be fought.
Perhaps you should be proud that they honored their country by serving but work towards ensuring that no more have to die in countries that we invaded purely for the sake of G. Bush's ego.

Nah, I don't think they're competent enough to catch bin Laden. It'll be the same ol' Red Terror Alerts like in 2004.

AReality: I sympathize your plight. However, unless the liberators connect with ordinary people, no peace is possible. Dropping bombs from above with scant respect for innocent families below will ONLY breed more hatred and resolve to fight back and kill. It can go on for years and then find out what the Soviets did in 80's.

Thank you, and you are all very right. But you know that, but when are we going to learn, when will something be done? We didn't learn from Vietnam. Maybe in November. The the damage has been done and is still going on. How do we stop it? Then, how do we fix it?
