A judge in New York has agreed to slash $10 million off the $12 million inheritance given by real estate billionaire Leona Helmsley to her pet dog, Trouble.

      I really think it was Leona's actual baby, not a pet at all. After all,in life, she was a bona-fide b*tch.

        I thought her will was frivolous, but do we want to tread that path? The precedent is twofold: 1) setting aside her stated will, and 2) allowing individuals to profit from the alternative decision.

        A better decision would have been, given the dog's estimated lifespan and expenses, to allow Helmsley's relatives to receive the residual estate upon the dog's death--per state law--had the dog not been in the picture to start with.
