Propeller Week In Review: May 23, 2008 »
Posted By JamesMarcus 4 months, 3 weeks ago in NewsIn this week's lengthiest conversation, Propeller members batted around what made them proud of (or apologetic for) the United States. Elsewhere, they took on gay marriage, appeasement, Teddy Kennedy, and the deepest, darkest caves in the country. Come, join the party!

HA! I love it when I say something brilliant enough (or more often dumb enough) to get included in the WIR. But at my age, an even better part of reading the WIR is that it shows that 7 more days have gone by, and I'm still here to hopefully see the next sunrise. :)

Very nice review. Without realizing it you have highlighted exactly how responsible for compliance in most of America's ills these people have been. Locky used a crass "definition" on how to deal with gay marriage, while Wolfie offered another "stat" to pretend that we are economically just fine, while aniokly and AG continued their shameless "history will prove" idiotic defense of George Bush. Between the 4 of them there was not one single non-headline. They are consistent, anti-gay, anti-peace, pro-oil company shills. If history proves anything, because reality is what we are living now, it will prove them as being in perfect lock-step compliance
with the bad guys, it will prove that their stubborn support for more of the same bad policies will make them no less
harmful than those who supported Hitler because of anti-Communist fears.
Hey, at least Cape Coral gave a human response to why he's a proud American. He CAN break away from the haters.

Sadly you do not apologize for your loyalty to our modern equivalent

Neither did Goerring or Himmler.

One could not be more misguided than the un-apologetic supporters of Hitler AND the few remaining shameless
Bush loyalists who all went oblivious to the
damage that their complicity caused.
I don't need to wait for history to prove where you
fit in on that account.
You spin it as "loyalty" when all others
see it as complicity (a true Nazi trait)
You've been called "drone, rubberstamp,
neocon" and much more by many others here.
You take pride in that?
You're willing to do it all over again?
Couldn't you at least express what difference you would support in our new president, instead of
remaining joined at the hip with this one and still
in-effective at supporting American growth and
revitalizing the American dream that you stood
idly by and watched him severely damaged?
Can't you(for the good of your nation) be
willing to show some constructive criticism and
learn from your mistake and try to show some form of
expectations from the person you choose to lead us?

Ok may I say something please? I personally DON'T agree with AG's political affiliations, but I will say this. AG's a fine decent human being, and I am proud to have her as my friend in Propeller. She's a true lady indeed.
Thank you.

That is how a liberally minded person is supposed to accept debate and civil discussion..The negative votes and unproductive comments are supposed to be for lesser people.
My only complaint about AG, other than a sickening defense of George Bush is all of the negative votes with no constructive discussion to back it up..Perhaps she has finally learned that Bush wasn't worthy of her trust, but remember how much pain we've had to go through just to get the message across.

I don't really believe that this thread is the time or place for any of this. By the same token I've never known AG to be anything but kind, until someone attacked her personally in a thread. I don't really believe your statements saying she is a "shill" were exactly civil, either. If you want to convince someone you are right, first you make them like you.

"The negative votes and unproductive comments are supposed to be for lesser people."
Your comments are about as unproductive as they possibly could get. I guess you are pretty much the silt in the well of "lesser people," according to your exceptionally low standards.
You don't agree with someone, so you gratuitously attack them. Pretty damned intolerant. If that is "liberal," then liberalism IS a disease, after all. No wonder Hitler was a socialist and Stalin a communist. You'd fit right in with them.

Selfish and greedy businessmen and the mob were the only Americans to support Hitler or any fascists..and NO Americans supported Stalin.
Hitler was NOT a socialist. he was a NATIONAL SOCIALIST..
NAZI...they did not believe in health care or redstributing land (ask a 9 year old) or read a book..THEY can tell you how wrong your assessment of Hitler being a socialist was. (after they stop laughing at you)

Read the "Twenty-Five Point Programme of the German National Socialist Workers Party, authored by Adolf Hitler and others"
http://www.laissez-fairerepublic.com/naziprog.htm
The Nazi's DID believe in health care and redstributing land along with nationalizing Industry. That's why they called themselves Socialists.
Perhaps you should stop getting your information from 9 year olds.

The whole world knows that Nazis were RIGHT wing extremists and socialists are LEFT wing extremists. Are Texas schools THAT bad?? Seriously!
Hitler a Socialist??????? Why did Mussolini and Franco side with him, were they Commies? Hope do you fit all of that mis-information in your head for so long??
Ask a history teacher, ok?
Hitler, a Socialist? No wonder why so many Germans were fooled!
Seriously, go ask ONE history teacher. No one will concur.
The link you put up also lists both Clintons and Roosevelt as socialists. It is posted by a fool and has no
acedemic backing. (fooled you, though)

How about this link from the neocon shills at Yale with the same information?
http://www.yale.edu/lawweb/avalon/imt/document/...
Redistribution of land, nationalization of industry nationalized health care. All Nazi Party planks.
Sorry but both your 9 year old "expert" and you are dead wrong.
BTW, it's pretty amusing to see someone try to claim that the National Socialist Party was not socialist.

why, do you drive in a driveway? ids there duck in duck sauce.
Stalin was a leftist..Communism and socialism is leftist.
Hitler called it the NATIONAL socialist party because he was a nationalist with a social agenda to get the Jews killed.
He did not help unions or poor people..
He did not believe in removing control from big businesses, as a matter of fact he partnered with them..You find me ONE history teacher and I'll be shocked.
The whole world of politicos knowe that Hitler could not have been further from Communism and socialism that anyone, and THAT is why Henry Ford, Joe Kenendy and other Americans supported him..

Can we all just agree that Stalin and Hitler were both towards the totalitarian end of the graph and that was the important thing? Totalitarianism isn't left/right... The differences in left/right are minor to me, as opposed to the differences between a totalitarian and an individualistic philosophy.

Negative, MRCOFFEECAKE. Your problem is that you should have questioned the "teachers" you continue to refer to as much as you question the facts presented here. Hitler was as leftist as all the other socialists.

You quoted one revisionist blogger. Try any political science book instead of reading one loonies blog. By the way he did describe the extremes of the two philosophies and gun control was not what made either of them what they were.
You want to learn, read from historical scholars, not one nut using his blog to re-write historical fact.
Unless all of my political science professors were dead wrong?

Of all the conservative ad hominems, the "Hitler was a socialist" ad hominem is the most pathetic. Hitler took over a party with the word socialist in its name. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Socialist...
Besides, any government and econonomic system is socialistic. Only anarchy is not. If you are a free market absolutist, then be consistent and call yourself an anarchist.

I do not believe there are any indecent people.
(propeller does a very good job of removing spammers or vulgar people)
I agree with your comments. AG is someone who I would very much wish to have an open and fair dialogue about her unquivering support of George Bush..nothing more, nothing less..
A dialogue involves facts and facts are useful
in a conversation.

Coffee, we on the right didn't need history to prove the character of the Clintons yet you still supported them (some still do) up till a few short weeks ago, since they've had the nerve to use the same tactics they and the Dems as a whole have used against the right for ever to get their way, against the new golden child Obama.
Yet the very heads of your party that you've sat in wonder over, has lied (nothing new), used race (the truth is out) and used personal slander to get the nomination of the dysfunctional party known as the Democrats. They and you toss out personal slander on a daily basis against anyone that dares to disagree with what we feel is a wrong view on many topics Coffee, you've just proven that in Spades in this thread. Then when push come to shove, your highest leadership in your party has been sexists, and racists as well as being eco-fascists as it pertains to the GW argument.

Don't worry, AG, there's an intolerant jerk in every crowd. Sadly, such fools won't apologize for their loyalty to the equivalent of a modern day inquisitions.
Apparently, tolerance for others' opinions just isn't in them. Too bad. But, consider the source. I mean, if Bush were anything like a "modern day Hitler," they wouldn't be allowed to make such stupid comments.

When I said "modern equivalent to Hitler" I was wrong..
Emperor, yes, Hitler, no...
They both did lead to the demise of their nations by spreading their armies too thin, but Hitler was a despicable ethnic cleansing fanatic and to compare him to Bush is wrong.
My only hope is that some day soon those few remaining relentless defenders of all that is bush will at least stop taking offense when someone expects accountability from the "leader o the free world".. I'm surprised they've stubbornly held out despite thee facts.

keep blaming the Clintons for what were the best 8 years of my life and ignoring what Bush has done to us the past 8 years. I love it.

Coffee, here is my guess (and I could be wrong). If you sat down Locky, Wolfie, aniokly, and AG at a table and interviewed them about gay rights, the Iraq war, fiscal matters, and energy policy, you would not find lockstep compliance. They would overlap in some areas and disagree in others. My guess is that you would find a similar patchwork of positions if you interviewed four of our left-of-center members. The fact that most human beings do not behave like ideological robots is something that gives me real hope on my more hopeless days. If that's misplaced, well, then I'm in trouble. But so are we all.

Locky, AG, aniokly and Wolfie are amongst the King and queen ROBOTS of Bush apololgists..
They are on auto-call.
and as their buddy Ronny would say", based on their last comments.
"There they go again"
Nothing more need be said. Wolfie defending our "strong economy is another backdoor Bush apologist move..
locky fighting against gay dignity through marriage is another pro-Bush position..
and the other two chimed in with their shameless Bush defense of the Iraq war by reminding us how history will prove him right..
True, they do not ALL defend Bush on all issues, so instead they take turns, at every opportunity, to prop up
his despicable and divisive administration policies.
On oil: Hey, if I were a blind supporter of a candidate, and so committed to their policies that I smelled like them, I would be first in line to hold him or her accountable for
resolving a crisis. What are these people asking of their great leader??
Answer: NOTHING, of course. THAT is my point.

There's nothing wrong with being gay. But gays can't get married.
On oil: How would YOU solve the problem? Windfall tax? More witch hunts of price gouging?
Unless we DIG and DRILL like Bush wants to do, and the left DOESN'T want to do, the price of oil will NOT come down! It's simple supply and demand.

Not to mention the fact that we are not in an oil crisis. The crisis was back in the day when you had to wait in line for hours to possibly get some gas. When after waiting you would get to the pump and they would say "Sorry pal, all out." That was a crisis. This is not. The Cubans are now going to be drilling for oil in the gulf yet the left still refuses to allow Us to drill there. Why? There is also Alaska, we only want to drill in 4% of the place yet to the environazis 1% is too much.
Some guy in the midwest drilled in his own back yard, found oil and now makes a profit off it's sale. The Natural gas it produces heats his an five other houses. He now plans to install 5 more rigs.
Why leftist crybabies cannot see this as a good thing is beyond me. You would think energy independence and low prices would seem like a good thing.

tang - the lines were because Carter emptied out the US oil reserves. Bush has been filling the reserves up (back at 97%) so that will not happen again.
Using a longer vision, than just the price today, will prevent lines in the future.
Thanks to Bush!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
