Jenna Bush's wedding is low-key affair at ranch

News – Jenna Bush couldn't see herself getting married at the White House surrounded by antique furniture and oil portraits of presidents. She and Henry Hager opted to say "I do" Saturday at President Bush's ranch in Crawford where the corn is thigh-high, roads are named Cattle Drive and the Texas flag is painted on the rooftops of barns.

Good on ya, tky.

What happened to her about defending America in Iraq?. So many young women have gone there not once but multiple tours.

So much for sacrifices when it comes to one's own family.

One could say the same for nearly every single Senator, Representative and members of Bush's cabinet.

One can also say it is their wedding day,,,,let them enjoy it.

It used to be that antagonists did set up truces between each other, can't the politics stay out of this.

Thank you, HB. You're a good one.

Agreed! and good point HB. Leave politics out of this, this is Jenna's golden moment, she has nothing to do with her dad. So please show some respect towards her.

Exactly. She's not the president.

One could but that would just show that person to be an uninformed idiot. Or Mikie Moore parrot.

US military service accounts for about 1% of the general population.

Our Government Admin, Congress has a much higher than avg. Representation tween Dems and Repubs than the general public.

I hope you meant Republican Senators and Representatives since they are the bunch who wants to "stay the course". So pick their children and send them out there along with Bush twins and that "LESBIAN" Cheney as well.

avatar
Reply

Actually, what's the reason for sending the children if the children don't want to go? Nobody's there that didn't sign up for it. I suggest a better situation would be to send all the senators and the entire Bush administration THEMSELVES. Let them pick up body parts and run roadblock checkpoints for a while. If someone's kid doesn't want to go, well, they're adults, that's their choice.

You can hope all you want, but when the Democrats constantly vote to fund the war, no matter their reasoning, they're as much at fault.

It is politics when it involves the President. It is OK to expose the hypocrisy when it comes to his family.

His daughter getting married shows "hypocrisy". Wow, you followers of peace sure do carry a lot of hate.

that's probably about the 5th or 6th neg I've given EVER!!

niki-- do you have kids? If you do, and they aren't infants or toddlers, do they share all your political beliefs?

As much as we might like them to be, our children are NOT just an extension and carbon copy of us. They are their own people with their own ideas and beliefs -- which may or may not be the same as ours. Our children disagreeing with us is not a sign of our hypocrisy, but a sign that we reared them to be complete people who think for themselves.

So your voting for McCain for president or are you a hypocrite?

Obama, Clinton and McCain have ALL voted to fund this war. Only McCain has a son ACTUALLY in IRAQ fighting the war.

Not the marriage, you guy. I meant these politicians not dispatching their own kids to wars that they start for "personal gains" like OIL. They would not mind if other's children die as long as their family is safe.

Thousands of moms today will be weeping over the death of their beloved sons and daughters in a war for OIL while the guy who started it all, is rejoicing marrying off his.

That is what I call hypocrisy.

avatar
Reply

Then attack it tomorrow, she hasn't got control of any oil yet

avatar
Reply

No, Sorry, thats not "hypocrisy". Saying you follow a religion of peace and then strapping a bomb to child to walk in to a wedding and slaughter women and children is "hypocrisy".

Here, let me help you out.

My guess is that you aren't old enough to even have any kids, or it may dawn on you that parents don't "dispatch" their children to do ANYTHING than an adult chooses not to do. Clearly if you believe this, your own parents are still making your decisions for you.

avatar
Reply

In the USA you mean. In Nikibabe and Dionys case they first dispatch their kids to local gatherings of civilians and then they really dispatch them by teaching them how to denote the suicide belt they strapped to them. Nice huh.

avatar
Reply

Blah blah blah. Your usual baseless attacks. I served in the US military, overseas in a combatant position. proudly. Did you? Or are you just yet another one of those gung-ho armchair warriors (or warmongers). Yeah. That's what I thought.

Osama Bin Laden is marrying off his daughter??

Leave the religion of peace alone. How about those pedophiles in robes molesting kids behind that piece of wood you folks call GOD.

Hundreds of children are murdered by their own mothers, fathers and boy friends in USA.

Husbands kill wives, wives kill husbands and children kill parents. So all religions has evils.

USA and its religions is no paragons of VIRTUE to blame others.

nikkibabe you are quite pathetic aren't you...

avatar

Geez! I pos'd voted her when I should've negged voted her for that. Nikki, unless you've spent time here in the USA, and really know how it is to be a run of the mill middle working class citizen that is the over-all nucleus of this country, then you are just spewing specious, vemenous, propaganda w/o any iota of cognitive cerebral content.

How are you gonna talk about a few pedophile 'priests' in someones elses religion when your messiah was a pedophile? No be gone with you! Terrorist loving dirtbag.

avatar
Reply

You see we put the "pedophiles in robes" in jail and vilify them for crimes they commit. YOU nikkibabe rejoice in the suicide bombers murderous attacks. You praise the murder of children and woman because they didn't wear a Burqa, they wanted to change religion or they were the victims of rape. BIG difference.

Funny how the biggest haters out here always want to stifle or suppress other peoples right to free speech while they spew the all the hate they want.

Islam...the religion of pieces.

No offense intended, but the incidence of molestation within the Catholic Church is exactly the same as within US society at large. It's a *human* evil, not religious.

Just as the "Islamic" terrorists don't represent Islam in any way.

Though you're spot on regarding the US calling the kettle black.
