The study broadly defines mood and anxiety disorders that greatly limit a person's ability to function for at least 30 days a year, including instances of any condition linked to suicidal behaviors or frequent violent acts, as serious mental illness (SMI).

You have no idea what you are talking about. Mental illnesses usually have physical causes, not environmental ones. Post Traumatic stress is one of the few exceptions, but that leads to physical responses resulting in mental illness.

Most mental illnesses are treatable with medication and therapy.

Hmmm ... either there is a Propeller glitch, or the comment I responded to blaming mental illness on the economy, war in Iraq and Democrat primary struggles of Obama and Clinton got pulled.

Very nice. So you have divined the root causes of schizophrenia, disthymic disorders, etc. The psychiatric community is still in disagreement about this - maybe you should call them and straighten them out.

Denial by family members prolongs much needed treatment. In case after case, family members of the mentally ill tell them to straighten up or get over it. We're not informed enough to know when to make the call for help. There are so many variables mainly because no 2 people and their symptoms are alike. The military contributes to the highest overall % of sudden mental illness, with good reason.

WELL- CONSIDERING THAT "MENTAL" ILLNESS IS NOT CURABLE..AND THE DOCS ALL KNOW THIS..SO..MUCH OF IT COULD BE PREVENTED, BY JUST NOT ALLOWING THEM TO HAVE OFF SPRING..BECAUSE IT IS IN THE GENES..

MARRIED ONE--LOUSY SHRINKS..MAYBE SOME DAY GENE ENGINEERING WILL BE ABLE TO "CURE" THIS,BUT- THEN WITH ALL THE DO GOODERS NOT ALLOWING ANY GENE RESEARCH--MAYBE NOT...

Begs the question, "Mace" - Were both of your parents insane? Did anyone talk to them about condoms?

Oh, yeah - your caps lock is stuck, too.
