"Thank God that law was written so cops wouldn't have to die doing their jobs. "

If someone pulls a gun on you without identifying themselves as a police officer, you should have every right to defend yourself in whatever way you feel necessary. Including running the person over with your car.

Sean was ALREADY trying to run them over. THEN they started shooting.

From what I heard & saw on the news, they were UNDERCOVER, NEVER identified themselves, & had their weapons drawn.

If someone points a gun at you, what exactly would you do?

Drive away in the opposite direction.

Have you seen where his car was it was in a tight spot he wasn't driving away if even he wanter to!

You're in a parking spot w/only 1 way to go, a man with a gun pointed at you, not reallhy saying anything, and DEFINITELY NOT identifying himself as a cop.

My 1st thought is duck & hit the gas - HARD.

With as much gun violence around these days, you see a man in regular street clothes pull a gun on you & you freeze? If I'm in my car, no. Unless he id's himself as a cop, he's roadkill.

Yes, however if you have 50 people pointing weapons at you, perhaps you should rethink your next move.

there weren't 50 guns, there were fifty shots fired.

Hell - 50 guns, I'll gun it even harder & just kiss my a$$ goodbye

It's just a shame more people were not carrying guns, then they could have had a real shoot out.

More guns equals solution to everything.

...and if he happens to be wearing a police uniform, not your fault, right?

Incorrect. A man that I used to work with went to jail for running someone over who was trying to rob him at gun point. The fact that he was in his van meant that he could have simply just drove away in the opposite direction. At that point it also becomes a case of he said she said. You say it was self defense because the peson had a gun, but they say they pulled the gun because you tried to run them over. Who looks better there? You, and your two buddies with extensive criminal backgrounds who could have thrown the car in reverse and left, or the three cops who were trying to stop three guys from getting their gun and opening fire in the bar where the fight had started?

they had no gun!!!!

They bsaid they were going to get one. That's all the cops, or anyone else for that matter need to hear.

the cops didn't "hear" them say that for at least several weeks after the shooting...

I'll look into that. From what I read the folks at the club who said bell was fighting in the first place told the cops he said he was going for a gun.
