Excuse me? The Iraqi people don't even have electricity full time! I would think that they would want electricity full time, first before someone builds them a park! If I were living in Iraq, I would think that an amusement park would be on the last thing on my list of things I wanted!
Why not take the money and invest in helping to rebuild the Iraqi citizens daily living conditions?
Wow, I can't believe that this is even being discussed!
Thanks Neo!

This is just unreal. Another American company heading off to the wild frontier (Mr. Werner prefers to call it an open field) to pillage and rape the Iraqi people. Are they supposed to be pleased that their occupiers are benefiting from their pain and suffering? Mr. Werner "wouldn't be doing it if he weren't making money." INDEED! He also has this "wonderful sense that he's doing the right thing." Of course he feels that way. I'd feel that way too if I were about make yacht loads of money. What a naive scumbag. An amusement park for American profit... Amusing? Not really.

Well, if he's going to be making yacht loads of money, then it would appear that he made a sound business decision and is giving the people what they want... that's how it works. On the other hand, if this is the tasteless, brain dead decision it would appear to be, then it won't. Matter of fact, he can't just go there and build, the Iraqis have to approve it, and someone has to sell him the land and grant the permits. How is it that every poster here has missed that point, and many have also missed the point by so much that you're acting like this guy is running the war, or the American government is behind this idiotic idea.
Let's all wipe the spit out of the corners of our mouths and aim our ire at the proper recipients for the proper reasons instead of foaming at the mouth.

Of course, this place will never be finished (if it's even ever begun). Just how do you complete a major construction project for something entirely unneccesary, in the middle of an active war zone?

The dream of Baghdad returning to a state of normality is a nice dream indeed.
