Maliki is the well paid front man for U.S. colonial rule. The most likely explanation for the U.S. invasion of Iraq is the neoconservative Bush regime's commitment to the defense of Israeli territorial expansion.

Whether Petreaus is actually competent or not is beside the point, he is an arse-licking politic hack and suck-up who only got the job because he was willing to kill more GIs than the next General.
Bush is as incompetent as they get. Failure at everything he's done, only became president because of Daddy's name, favors, connections, and Dubya is easily manipulated by his handlers like Cheney.
