Somehow I think this man's life will now be confined to a VERY deep concrete bunker, with armed guards posted.

FYI - I'm still waiting for the clip to play (after 30 mins), but considering it's already had over 3/4 million views in it's first day, that's no surprise......

Thank God, and praise Allah, that this film is about The Religion of Peace so that any responses to it by Muslims will not be violent.

Let's just hope he doesn't make a similar one about Buddhists because then all bets would be off.

Or the religion of the Prince of Peace.

Buddhists supported the nationalist war in Japan during WWII. Read "Zen at War" by Brian Daizen Victoria, or Chadwick's biography of Shunryu Suzuki. It's unfortunate but every religion has had a brush with supporting violence, oppression or nationalism at one point.

You can look towards Christianity in Nazi Germany (or Catholicism supporting it by doing nothing and making agreements with Hitler). Or even today in terms of women's rights.

The problem is never a specific religion (except maybe with the Mayans or Babylonians), but with fundamentalists who twist the meaning of a religion to support their own agenda.

What is your problem with Mayan religion? Kukulkan will punish you!

it's true muslims will overreact but why the provocation?

Anyone with half a brain knows that this was a deliberate attempt at instigation, and your reaction is exactly what is expected. Let's see, we'll invade a Muslin country for no good reason and murder hundreds of thousands of its citizens, and then on top of that, we'll make a film disrespecting their cultures and religions. The film maker is fully aware of the frustration felt by Muslims, and the bigotry exhibited by whites, and decided to exploit this. Judging by some of the comments on this thread, he read you right.

What about the Progressive principle of standing up for freedom of speech, no matter how provocative?

avatar

What about the basic principal of no pre-emptive wars and not murdering hundreds of thousands of innocent people.

I somehow think that this guy will not end up on Irans favorite person list.

And I see another video on its way from Bin Laden

Just started to watch the video, I'll add my own warning :-

Graphic scenes, if you are squeamish, DO NOT WATCH THE VIDEO !!

avatar
Reply

Update - Views now at 1.12 million, which could explain why it's so dammed slow.....

avatar
Reply

I just finished watching the video.

I'm absolutely amazed at how courageous Wilders is for posting this.

I doubt that any media organization in the US would have enough courage to show any of these scenes.

avatar
Reply

I haven't seen the film but I have the utmost respect for him having the nads to do it. We should offer to put him in the witness protection program. I'm guessing he'd refuse but wish him the best.

It doesn't take a hell of a lot of courage to risk other peoples' lives. Ask Bush for confirmation on that.

avatar
Reply

Whoaaooooo hohohoho.... you got Bush there. Wow!!!!

avatar
Reply

He's obviously obsessed with the man which tells you at least two things about his character.

avatar
Reply

There's nothing obsessive about comparing Bush's war started because God (and "his" evangelical 'representatives') told him to, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis and thousands of US troops, and a film about another fundamentalist crowd causing similar horrors.

avatar
Reply

That's two, anyone else want to appear stupid?

avatar

In the case of our Buffoon-in-Chief, the correct word is not "risk", it's "spend".

Courageous for deliberately attempting to instigate violence from a people who have seen their land stolen, their countries invaded and occupied, and their citizens murdered by the tens of thousands?. You admire this? Remember that he is also exploiting your bigotry as he is expecting to get the reaction that you presented.

Anyone with any semblance of reasoning ability knows that this is a deliberate attempt to fuel discord between Muslims and non-Muslims. Who has the most to gain by this? Jewish and Israeli interests. Jews were behind the creation of the cartoons that were published awhile back, and they got exactly the reaction that they were hoping for.

avatar
Reply

So the scenes with in the video were staged and they were not really actual events with "real" Muslims - they were all just actors?

avatar
Reply

Well it's hard to find a "real" religious person doing something bad, when a mulsim/christian/etc misbehave the followers of that religion are the first to say that that person is not a Real mulsim/christian/ etc.

avatar

Ahh, I see. It's all the fault of the Jooos. And George Bush, of course.

BoBo,

The scary thing about these "people" is that they have the right to vote.

How many Islamists will kill each other in protests? Such silly people. They should be protesting the Koran and it's brutishness and inconsistancies, but they will want to kill the messenger who shows the truth of their evil religion.

"They should be protesting the Koran and it's brutishness and inconsistancies"

Unlike the Bible, of course... right?

"the truth of their evil religion."

Unlike Christianity, of course... right?

Before you get too snotty about "their evil religion" you may want to review the numbers on how many innocent people have died or been enslaved in the name of Christ. I'm sure that just about any good Catholic priest could fill you in. And, failing that, you may want to ask the indigenous peoples of the Americas or even some Muslims.

Someone told him that a while ago. He though they said glue and has been huffing that, spray paint, toluene and virtually any thing he can get his nose into.

PhyschoHoe,

When was the last time a Christian killed someone over a cartoon in the name of Christianity? Or the Last time a Christian strapped on a bomb to be a martyr for god? Or the last time someone was jailed for naming a stuffed animal Jesus? Or the last time they jailed and lashed a woman for talking to a man? or stoned someone too death in the name of sharia law?

You can reference 14th century Christianity but it doesnt have much relevance today. America is a melting pot of many different religions that all get together, even the Christians that you hate.

Christians pray their children to death instead of giving them medicine. They incinerate them rather than surrender to the authorities, or poison them with Kool Aid. They beat insane people to death who are "possessed", or who are just gay. They denigrate other cultures, religions, eachother, and especially their women. Everyone does what he does; be an apologist for the Christians if you wish. In the end you will not be rewarded for those you did not kill, but for those you loved in tangible ways.

avatar
Reply

TK - You are talking about a minute percentage of those you call christians.... Your only point of merit is that of love.

And how many of the billion Muslims are involved in terrorism? The faults of the two religions are slightly different in degree rather than kind, and the faults of the two scriptures are identical.

avatar
Reply

And how many of the billion Muslims are involved in terrorism?

Only 10 to 20%, that's just a mere 150 to 300 million.

avatar
Reply

So there are more Muslim terrorists than there are adult Americans. Right. Let's all just drink the Kool Aid, immolate ourselves, or point ourselves toward Mecca and bow down.

What an idiot you are. Some moron like you will always post something like this. Other religions/cults may have done some islamadanian like crap back in the stone age but they evolved out of it hundreds of years ago. The islamadans are still in the stone age today. It doesn't take half a brain to see that the koran is a load of evil crap or that moehammad was probably the most evil man that ever lived and in no way was he a prophet of a god. He invented the evil cult for his very own use. I doubt if most islamadans have even read the koran and if they did they didn't let any of it soak in because of their from birth brain washing not to question any of the crap.

Garbage. Hateful garbage. There are plenty of examples of current Christians using their religion to oppress or otherwise kill. It's hardly in the past. Look to Africa if you need a modern example. Or look to Bush who started his crusade (the administration's word) because God willed it -- over half a million Iraqis dead and over 4000 US soldiers dead.

It's fundamentalism that is the danger. Always.

Funny that you should mention Africa, Dio......

It seems that slavery is still found/practiced there, but NOT AMONG "Christians."

Rather, slavery is to be found EVEN TODAY in regions ruled by MUSLIMS. This is verified by my cousin's son, who lives in the Sudan's Darfour region.....

Funny thing. NOT!!!!!!!!

I guess your son hasn't had any dealings with the Lord's Resistance Army. I suspect he shares the same blinders that you do. There's plenty of oppression, killing and slavery going on by self-proclaimed Christians. Just as there is by self-proclaimed Muslims. Neither of which follow the basic laws of either of their prophets.

Dio - As usual, your post is remarkably similar to the remains of a bull after it's chowed down on a load of hay....

However, I do agree with your fundamentalist comment...

Reminiscent of another religion and scripture that is widely defended in the West.

How many people will mindlessly accept this filmaker's vision?

Such silly people. These people should be protesting the Bible and its brutishness and inconsistencies, instead of using it as a reason to invade and occupy Arab land, and murdering tens of thousands of its people.

The face of evil? Look in a mirror.

Iso - Try looking at the proclaimed faith of those who commit the worst attrocities.....

As for your 10's of thousands of deaths, who committed the majority ????

Oh yes, that'd be Muslims, wouldn't it ?

Only because those evil scheming Jooos made them do it.

If you don't believe me, ask Iso.

No. It'd be the self-proclaimed Christians of the US military sent to war at God's behest via George Bush responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths [according to the John's Hopkins study] (or if you want to go by the pentagon's scaled down figure, tens of thousands).

"Dutch broadcasters have declined to show the production by 44-year-old Freedom Party (PVV) leader Mr Wilders, who lives under police protection because of earlier death threats."

In other words, You Tube allows the freedom of speech that Dutch broadcasters are too cowardly to provide.

If the Dutch don't take a stand against the radical Islamists, they'll become prisoners in their own country.

A terrifying chronicle of the exploits of the radical followers of the "Religion of Peace". We ignore these nuts at our own peril.

It's scary when you consider that radical Islamists are involved in virtually every conflict around the globe today...

I don´t really know, why this provocation was necessary. The aim to inform the public by telling the truth about the Islam and its fascist face for me seems to be only a new kind of populism, making use of the web with its "anything goes" as a credo. Is it a testing out the limits, the confortable feeling as a western martyr for the freedom of speech? What the public, in the Netherlands and elswhere in Europe and America, really needs, is an honest dialogue, free from propaganda and hatred.

9/11 has shown to everyone of us, what astonishing power pictures can develope. This power could better be used in a positive and peace-making way than to be abused for the confirmation of prejudices.

avatar

Well, then I guess we should refrain from show any films and pictures that might offend your precious muzzies, all in the name of peace and brotherhood, of course.

Next we should all speak Arabic.

Neville Chamberlain would be so proud.
