    Renzi has been on the Citizens for Responsibility & Ethics in Washington (CREW) list of most corrupt congressmen for 3 years - glad to see that inspite of Rove guidance to go after only Dems that Renzi is now indicted!

    The same CREW list has 22 congressmen on it, all repugs except 4 dems. The only Semnators on the list are 4 Repugs led by the likes of Ted Stevens, the "bridges to nowhere" and you don't have to tell Congress the truth guy!

      PHOENIX (AP) -- Federal authorities announced corruption charges Friday accusing Rep. Rick Renzi of engineering a swap of federally owned mining land to benefit himself and a former business partner and stealing from his insurance company's clients.

      A lengthy federal investigation that had put the three-term Republican congressman under a cloud for more than a year culminated in a 26-page indictment issued Thursday against him and two other men. Renzi announced Aug. 23 that he wouldn't run for re-election in Arizona's mostly rural 1st Congressional District.

            this is the problem we have with conservatives. if you were to say something like "this guy is a crook and an embarrassment to the GOP, i hope they lock him up." we would consider you fair and balanced, maybe even reasonable.

            but no, you try to dismiss it by implying its ok because "our guy" did something bad too... well its NOT ok, no matter WHO does it. corruption is corruption. and any1 whos guilty, of ANY party, should be jailed.

              Odd way to see it, what I see is Bobo saying lock him up, along with someone else that seems to have done something illegal. of course neither has been tried yet, but anyway, if they are guilty Bobo said lock them both up, but you say that's the problem you have with conservatives? Now how is it saying LOCK HIM UP with Jefferson dismissing what he did, if he did it, and he probably did, he is a politican after all. But somehow you see Bobo saying LOCK HIM UP, as saying it's ok if he did it because Jefferson did. NOw there is the problem with an extremist like you from either side, blindness by choice. But as for me, I can't see how saying lock him up is the same as saying it's ok, but I guess in liberal thinking that's the way it is huh? And btw, isn't what Bobo said really what you said, but won't admit he said, he said lock them both up, one from each party, one from the republican party, but somehow you missed the fact Bobo said WITH Jefferson, not Jefferson INSTEAD of him.

                I wonder why Boehner, Frist, and Hastert felt the need to intercede to President Bush directly on Jefferson's behalf. Perhaps the corruption scandal hit too close to home? Maybe they thought the FBI would be raiding their houses next, and discover evidence of corruption there.

                As stated above there are about 25 or so Republicans on the CREW list and 4 Democrats so to name one Dem and not explain how that applies to all is making your bias pretty glaring.

                  Yes, the bais is glaring isn't it... "Lock him up with Mr. Jefferson of Louisiana." saying lock up one of each party, or more to the point, lock up people that broke the law, and state it without mentioning party affiliation. I see bais, but none of it was coming from Bobo. And I'm sure it never occured to you that it is possible Bobo made the comment he did because he does have a bias, against criminals.

                  What I do see mostly is people that know Bobo is conservative taking shots at him, and trying hard to justify their bias against him when all he said was lock up a couple crooks, and sure he mentioned Jefferson by name, but then he also said "lock him up" and didn't mention the persons name, but that might just be because the story is about Rick Renzi, and saying lock him up made it pretty clear Bobo meant Renzi. And I see a LOT of rationalizaions of why someone attacked Bobo about what he said, when he never said it...

                    I gave BoBo a neg and I'm going to give you one, too, because this is what makes so many people angry and exasperated with the republican collective mindset. You NEVER accept responsibility for wrongdoing without pointing the finger at somebody else outside of your party, as if that justifies or mitigates guilt on your member's part. It is quite evident why BoBo chose Jefferson out of all the persons on that most corrupt congressmen list. He is the most publicized democrat out the 4 listed, and there are at least 24 other republicans whose names he could have chosen! Very transparent!!

                        Like killing innocent Orthodox Christians Serbs from Jets Clinton sent to help the UN murder those people and now it looks like they will have their country stolen for it's mineral wealth, all based of less than truthful charges against them.

                        Your gay congress members are saintly because they never professed 'moral values' but the republican ones are evil because they dared to tell the truth that morals are good, even if they can't personally live up to them or not. Kind of how people tell their children not to lie and they lie to them afterward. They told the truth, lying is bad, even if they didn't live up to it personally.

                      And now on to a connected story ladies and gentlemen.

                      It's being reported that a group of 23 or more left leaning members of a popular political blog-site were in attendance of the game in celebration of the latest Republican Scandal on said blog-site when the ball hit Mr. Jefferson's Limo. After the alleged members ran into the parking lot and attempted to retrieve the ball inside the Democrat Congressman from Louisiana Limo. They were later fined and released.

                      They were released One of the blog-members stated to our reporter that he wanted to have Mr. Jefferson (Democrat Congressman from Louisiana) autograph the ball in a sign of unity with a member of his party against Republican corruption.

                Ok ybdogsct, but what does all you just said have to do with the fact Bobo said lock them both up and got a reply telling him that he was saying he was defending the republican, saying what he's accused of (and like Jefferson not yet convicted of) was ok to do? What does what you said have to do with Bobo condemning two members of Congress, one from each party, only to be told that's why the left hates conservatives, because they think it's ok if a republican does something illegal, and getting that response for saying the guy should go to jail along with someone else accused of a crime. It didn't look like Bobo was the one saying anything someone he agrees with is, that seemed to be what the attitude of IcCaRus is, Bobo gets accused of doing something he didn't do, by someone doing exactly what they are accusing Bobo of. I don't see the connection, ...

                  It shows that BOBO agrees with the Democrats who also wanted to oust Jefferson and will likely want to oust Renzi. Perhaps BOBO should consider switching party affiliations.

                  Everything else in your post shows YOU are as guilty to jumping to conclusions based on political bias as the people you mention in your post. I passed no judgment on BOBO's comment. I only provided documentation showing that the Democrats' attempt to oust Jefferson was foiled by the Republican leadership.

                  It appears YOU are the one jumping to conclusions with my post. It appears YOU are the "projecting your bias" on my post. It appears YOU are the one "distracting from the real point" of my post.

              Its interesting how critics of the justice department for being so being so politicized under republicans want to claim that corruption is republican. And yet this department does not seem to hesitate going after any party member. Corruption knows no party.

              I agree with you Ic not to dismiss it. Still, indictment is not yet proven guilt. We've had land deal cases before (Clinton-Whitewater). We may have more in the future (Obama).

              I dont like crooks ruining a parties reputation. But I have to laugh at all the partisans throwing rocks on this forum from thier glass houses.

    Though I do belive that any corruption in government is bad and should be dealt with; Isn't it funny that the Feds can always find time to charge GOP folk for stuff like this, yet when it comes to Harry Reid and Barack Obama, their little 'land deals' don't seem to be a problem. Then the usual suspects on this site sit and beat their scrawny little chests about how it's not surprising that the GOP has warts, as they somehow can't see the advanced stages of leprosy afflicting their chosen guys and gals.

        Hmmm... from what I've gathered talking to many friends across the northern border, the Canadian Parliament is much more representative of it's people, though not without it's detractors.

        As for the system where I live, it's like baseball, I don't hate the game, but do hate some of the players; ...and some of the teams just plain suck.

      Jefferson has not been indicted I believe which is quite amazing with a Bush Justice Department looking more closely at Dems! Remember that even Hastert was up in arms when the Bush Justice Department illegally went into Jefferson's house and found that money in the freezer.

      Jefferson in only one of 4 Dems on the CREW list of 22 most corrupt - all the rest are Repigs, excuse me, repugs!

The man is his AZ campaign manager, which means he knows him quite well and he also knew about the charges lodged against him. Maybe all republicans aren't corrupt, but it certainly seems that way to me! McCain hangs with entirely too many who are coming up dirty, and he has narrowly escaped prosecution himself for corruption. I can't even believe he's being touted as an "honest" politician! Maybe he's considered honest by republican standards??

                I don't know if you're trying to make it look like I was trying to hide something, but if you looked at the link you know it also shows things taht happened during Reagan, even Nixon, along with Clinton, so for anyone that wants to look at the link they'll find it doesn't try to hide crimes in other Presidents Administrations, it just compares them to what went on under Clinton to what went on in their Administration.

                Yeah, that's what I'm waiting for, the list of names and crimes, not just one or two general references. And talk about lack of comprehension, you post a link that simply says list of republicans, then get demanding about someone else giving names and crimes, that by the way are at the link I posted, the same you you posted a link with little more in the message. But as usual with someone on the far left what is ok for thme is NOT ok for anyone else, bunch of control freaks that want to run every aspect, down to the smallest detail, of everyone else's lives, but most dems don't see how they come across simply because they choose not too. And what you are doing is a great example of that. A lot of do as I say, not as I do, no one that isn't a lib is smart enough to make their own decisions. And yet those tend to be the same people that are always telling us it's the right that causes all the devisiveness, of course they play no part in deviding us, not that they'll admit anyway.

    KLARRIS, 22 on the CREW list and only 4 are Dems! The only senators being 4 Repug Senators on the list.

    Its simple math Klarris that you must have also failed! Oh, I remember now, its the new, new math out in California where someone is correct for ingenuity, not the right answer!
