News – Serbia has recalled its ambassador from Washington in protest at US recognition of Kosovo's independence, saying the US has "violated international law".
And I suppose genocide isn't in violation of international law. Two words for Serbia: 'fu(k off'.
Semper fi.
Bomb me? With what? We won't have a military after the Libs finish with this country. Thanks for the death threat though.
Your the one whining now, first you whine to go into Iraq then you whine because your getting killed, now you whine because it costs to much money. I sometimes think the only time the US would be happy is if the rest of the world payed for their own imprisonment at some remote spot like getmo so you could do what ever you want in the world.
Coming from a Canadian? The only reason you guys don't speak German or Russian are because of the United States. We bailed your sorry butts out of two world wars and protected you during the Cold War.
As to Iraq, have you been listening to the latest reports of the draw down of US forces? Have you heard how the Iraqi government is now working together despite the reports of the bias media? Oh, that's right, you guys still can't figure out if you want to speak French or English and ever few years your Frenchies try to break away.
Your comments show just how uneducated you are. I suggest you step away from the keyboard and do some reading on both world wars, then come back and apologize for that ridiculous statement. Where do you come up with this stuff? As for protection once again I point out the only country to invade Canadian soil was the US which it did three different times. Look up just how well that worked out for them before you spew of garbage like you did above.
As for the Iraqi government it doesn't exist anymore, all you have is a puppet government put in place by an occupying army. And that puppet government will only last as long as the US keeps troops there to protect it and at a cost of thousands of American lives. Do you value the lives of those young men and women so little as to sacrifice them for nothing but greed and pride?
As to the French question at least we never turned on our fellow country men like the US did on the Confederacy.
You'd prefer a traditional Arab dictator to a democracy in Iraq. I know that. I also know a great deal about both world wars and my knowledge did not come from a CAIR-approved textbook so it's accurate. Actually, the British invaded the U.S. from Canada during the War of 1812. Do some more reading.
I don't have to because I finished reading the rest of it and found out much of the fighting was done by local Canadian militia who didn't trust the lying, stealing, and murdering Americans who wanted nothing more than to control the natural wealth within our country. Do some reading, thats funny, next time look past just the head lines.
I suppose it won't be long and the bleeding liberals will be on here blaming the U.S. and/or Bush ...and like you said thomn62 .."who cares" ...let them be free ..we rebelled against england, I think......
You make such a wonderful point, it's amusing how some including the US are so fast to recognize others separation while when faced with it them self deal with it by military force. Long live the Confederacy.
During the American Civil War there were many other things in play. However, you didn't have the death camps and rape centers the Serbs had. Those are proven facts from the War Crimes trials held in Brussels.
As to separating, I think it would be better if they stayed together, but there's deep hate there. If making two different nations will being some peace then so be it. I'm not a friend of either side but Serbia really needs to answer some serious questions regarding their roles in the deaths of thousands. A few of their leaders went to trial but far more remained.
"bleeding liberals"??
It's bleeding heart.
stupid and angry comment..
When will you (if ever) realize that Bush has been a divisive, moron who refuses to listen to professional economists, military leaders or former members of his cabinet?
Oh, you don't know by now??
Then I guess you never will..
Wait till Colin Powell's book comes out!
We bombed Serbia because they were the bad guys..
The whole world was with us, are you??
Oh no, that's right, you don't hate them, you're just afraid of liberals??
Why, because they're smarter than you??|
Haven't you noticed? Everyone is a liberal now..
All 72% of us who believe that bush is doing a lousy job.
Congratulations, you're clinging on to your pathetic loyalties to the hate mongers and fools who still apologize for Bush and blame Clinton. how does it feel to be a member of one of the smallest and possibly dumbest minority in America? You're dwindling fast. (and for good reason)
Bye bye!!
You got McCain now!!
If Quebec were to declare its independence from Canada, will the US recognize Quebec? Or Kurdistan from Iraq, Turkey and Iran? Or Northern Virginia from Virginia?
Heck no. We don't need another French nation. Let the Canadians keep them.
But seriously, we're talking about Yugoslavia. A nation slapped together after WWI. The 5 regions were more often than not at war with each other for the last 2000 years. The fighting probably started over a goat or girl friend and escalated. The common people never had a say. France, Italy, the UK and US forced this as a part of the League of Nations. We saw crimes including mass rape in civilian prison camps, found mass graves and complete eradications of villages by the Serbs. I think it would be best of this region was permitted to be separate. That is unless you support genocide of people and those surviving forced into work camps and ghettos.
There is some logic in what you say but let me point out that allowing them to be separate countries does not make them any more likely to get along. All it does is allow a country to carry out aggressive war instead of a people, at some point or another the same crimes will be carried out as before.
As for you lack of respect for the French it is distasteful when it could be argued the US owes it's very existence to the French. If not for the French navy's assistance in breaking the British blockade many more British troops may have landed putting in question American Independence. You really should read more, informed opinions are really the best.
What makes one ruler any better than the next or the next elected one? Case in point George W Bush. Democracy is a word used or I should say misused much these days. There is such thing as a elected dictatorship and history shows it is no different than one forced upon the people. It has been thousands of years since the world has experienced true democracy at work. Look to the Greeks to see how it should be done.
Hitler was elected to office, Mussolini was elected to office,And Tojo was also elected. Not all of them planed to stay in power their entire life as can be found in their published works. They had a vision for their country and it's people, one that on the surface may not have looked that bad at first.
So was Stalin and Castro too if you consider that a real election. When they have an AK-47 and pre-marked ballots, it's not hard to win an election. Then again, you are from Canada. I should probably add a yah-dar-hey or some other colloquial phrase to make you feel more at home. I know you! You're the guy from the Red Green show. Winston Rothschild III, C.E.O. of Rothschild's Sewage and Septic Sucking Services. You spew enough communist poop so it really fits.
So you could find nothing wrong with my logic and resorted to childish personal attacks, it says much about you.
Dictators do not all start out as such, just like not all dictators only wish to hurt their own people. If you had a real education like we have in Canada you would know that but alas you are not Canadian so must accept what you can get.
Jay-What makes you think they were permitted to vote? Voting wasn't permitted in Kosovo under Serb rule. It's just like Michigan and Florida Democratic votes don't count with their own party anymore.
Look to the Greeks? You perhaps should watch the PBS special dealing with ancient Athens. If you were a free male, property owner and a citizen of Athens you were permitted to vote. If you were someone from their conquered city states you had no rights, no vote and were heavily taxed. Athens had a huge slave population with all of the evils imaginable.
As to the United States, we're a representative republic. We have two major parties and a bunch of smaller ones. Our president is limited to 2 4 year terms. It's too bad our Senate and House doesn't have the same provision. Our President isn't a dictator.
Your post are so insightful into how you have been seeing the world and why people such as yourself some how thing your better then the rest. First of all who is the "they" in your first line? I never made any reference to Serb voting at all.
If your only source of information is PBS and the Internet than that explains much about you. Go get some books and read up on who represented the public in the Athenian Democracy. Now I didn't say all people were entitled to vote did I? All citizens had a vote and all citizens sat on the counsels at least once. Add to that people who got to powerful could and were routinely removed from politics for long terms or life making it truly run by all the voting members and not just one or two powerful people. While the requirements for being a citizens were wrong the system was in fact run by all the citizens for all the citizens.
And yes the shrub is a dictator because he goes against the will of the people for his own personal gains.
You would think it wouldn't work but some how with veto's and executive signing privileges he does it. I don't put much stock in either party, they bother are run by big business. Look up and see where there money comes from and they are not that far apart really. It's all an illusion really, nothing is left up to the average joe to decide.
Jay, are the public schools in Canada really that bad? If our president really was a dictator, we would have ignored the middle east and invaded you guys. You have more oil than most of the middle east. Your military, while very well trained wouldn't do well against an massive American attack. If Bush was this really bad guy you seem to dream about, we would have take you over. We're not, we're only bringing freedom to a formerly oppressed people. Too bad Canada forgot that freedom is worth fighting for and helping others win too.
First of all America only invades second and third world countries which even still manage to hold their own against you, sad really isn't it? If the US tried to invade Canada that would spell the end of the US as you know it, think about it for a second, your afraid of a handful of terrorist halfway around the world that stand out like a sore thumb in a crowd. Think about what a few million pi$$ed of Canadians could do when we blend in completely and have the ability to do pretty well anything you can. Not to mention if you attack one commonwealth country you get them all after you, thats a lot of countries there Chum. American freedom is an illusion, wake up and realize what the rest of the world already knows.
