They are not being Incompetent, this has nothing to do with competency, this is a deliberate attempt to mislead/hide the truth...this is what the Bush Administration does with no punishment...I hope the DEMS win and open an Investigation on this White House, there is no way we can move forward as a nation without first healing the wounds of this bastard!

Don't get me wrong. Any person, after receiving due process of law, who is convicted of terrorist acts, should be dealt with according to law. Harshly!
However:
..."Defense lawyers contend there are still records missing, including some that would show Hamdan was COERCED into making some statements that could be used as evidence against him......"
Coerced? Hmmmmmmm. I wonder what that means?
"U.S. President George W. Bush authorized the Guantanamo court to prosecute suspected al Qaeda members on terrorism charges, arguing that existing civilian and military courts were not designed to try war captives who are not part of any national army...."
Which is almost word for word what the North Vietnamese said when confronted with the mistreatment and torture of our POW's. Our soldiers taken in Vietnam were considered spies, counter-revolutionaries, but not soldiers who were "protected" by the Geneva Convention.

This is not new. The military routinely loses records when something embarrassing is contained in them. When I was in the service I had a finance clerk threaten to "lose" my records if I did not cooperate with him. I won't go into detail about what it was about but it had to do with my rank being reduced by mistake and I was trying to fix the problem.
I actually called over the lieutenant in charge and told him what happened. The clerk got into some pretty hot water.

The Law is the Law. You know that even if, they send him home he will be watched and he knows that. If anything, he will go straight to Bin Laden's kin.

Lost accidentally -- on purpose!
I'm not surprised knowing Osama is the brother of Saleem --- Bush's business partner in Saudi Arabia!!

You says 'this really helps a real "war on terror."', you're right only as it is war from Israel on palestinians. Helps! Rrrighttt!

Huh. The Bush Administration sure seems to be losing a *lot* of things related to investigations of crimes in the administration.
I wonder when someone will have the balls to call it obstruction of justice and put those criminals behind bars.

They may as well release him and I wouldn't be surprise if they get someone that resembles Osama pushing up roses or what ever the desert flower. Probably won't be the real one. This make for a good fiction. Let me title this. How to invent good grace, when stinking.
