"Really? so who did Bush put in jail for not agreeing with him?"
Bush had Iraq invaded & killed thousands of innocent civilians including innocent children & babies.
Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Reagan, Bin Ladin, the Saudi Monarchy, ISI, Musharraf, Hamas, Olmert, Sharon etc....
Let's just lump them all together. They all use the same despicable methods. They are all on power trips. None is better then the other.

Musharraf is following Bush's lead.
The mistake with dictatorships is they
allow themselves to be called dictatorships.
When a dictator insists it be called democracy
the confusion of the simpletons makes life
easier for them. The emperor's new clothes.

And America continues to back anyone regardless of Democratic principles. We meddled, we intrude, we squander our economic prosperity and our soldiers lives, for what?
Being the moral adjudicator for the world is correct? Meanwhile Americans are despised and hated and you know what we are earning it with our corporate greed and desire for more power. What's next leaders, idiots all.
Happy Thanksgiving except not to Bush and his cronies and most of our representatives on both sides of the aisle who are complicit in America's demise.

I didn't know you guys were the ones who could solve Pakistan's problems. Tell us please, if your so against Musharraf what would you do to solve the problem of terrorism in his country? I know you don't have an answer but I like to ask questions just to see what kind of jack asses you will make yourselves.
Btw, why don't you guys stop meddling in Pakistan's affairs? Weren't you the ones saying we shouldn't meddle in Iraq or Iran's affairs? Seems a little hypocritical to me.

Musharraf just wants to hold on to power.
As simple as that. And expand that power
while he can. It's what he wanted from the
start when he first overthrew the elected prime
minister in a military coup.
For a while he was between a rock and a
hard place with us breathing down his neck
and terrorists popping up like wildflowers
in his countryside.
His people are on one side, we are on the
other. It's a tighrope act. While he's
loathed by the Pakistanis, fortunately for
him, the opposition isn't held in high
regard either. And to make doubly sure, he's
either denied them access of re-entry or
restricted their mobility.
You can do that when it's a state of emergency.
And now he's stacked the Supreme Court.
So he's realized he can turn our alliance with him
to his advantage.
Our president set the precedent.
Monkey see, monkey do.
This isn't the first and it won't be the last
case where nations follow in our footsteps in
their pursuit of totalitarianism.

When you consider the fact that Pakistan has nuclear devices, and apply any thought at all, it seems obvious why the US might want someone in power they can trust. (Not to imply that Pakistan/Musharraf is completely trustworthy) At least under Musharraf, Pakistan pretends to oppose al-Qaeda and the Taliban. I think it is questionable if that would continue to be the case under a more radical Islamic regime.

So priapism, let's take a closer look at the links you so graciously provided. I am not sure how much truth they can be accorded, but nonetheless.
Here is a paragraph from the 3rd link:
"This U.S. Intelligence Information Report concludes that the ISI is much more involved with the Taliban than Pakistani officials have been telling U.S. diplomats. U.S. intelligence indicates that the ISI "is supplying the Taliban forces with munitions, fuel, and food."
Did you know Musharraf is involved with the ISI & elected some of the ISI's chiefs?

Yes. In fact, didn't his Inter-Service Intelligence agency help him into power? That is one of the reasons I included the disclaimer 'Not to imply that Pakistan/Musharraf is completely trustworthy'.
The point I was trying to make is that while Musharraf at least 'pretends to oppose al-Qaeda and the Taliban' and to be a US ally, many of those who want him replaced (including members of his former cabinet) are openly hostile to west in general and the US in particular.
The issue seems to be whether or not it is in the US's best interest to support a known tyrant, or a nascent regime that is openly hostile.
I agree that there is plenty of evidence against his efficacy as an ally, but he has shown that when pushed hard enough by radical Islam, he will push back.

A Pakistani Supreme Court stacked with judges loyal to the president,
So this the Democratic principle, judges are his pawns and they will do anything Musharaf tells them to do, and America will accept that decision because otherwise terrorist will take over Pakistan. Anyone who does not agree with America or the Western standard way of life is a terrorist.

So in the name of nuclear weapons, your country supports a military dictator who has suspended the constitution, dismissed and arrested all supreme court judges, closed TV, radio and newspapers and arrested every creature opposed to all of these?
While all this is going on, you invaded and occupied another country.
Now you say neighboring Iran is the cause of all the turmoil in the Middle East.
You want rest of the world to believe and trust you!!!!!!

You sound like one of the fanatic anti-american zion-fascists peddling such hatred to kill americans in the mideast for zionism. You should learn from sane israelis of this type:
Why Israel Has No "Right to Exist" as a Jewish State
Religion â;; The Annapolis meeting is a con. We should say loud and clear that Israel has no right to exist as a Jewish state. To claim such a right to be racist must come from a being whose victim's face must hide very dark primordial aggression and hatred of all others.

ONe could say the same about jews and zionists. For example, the murderous zionists are less than 20% of american jews (much less in the rest of the world), but the majority of american jews do not speak out about zionist crimes against millions of christians and moslems.

The Problem in Pakistan
Do No Evil â;; Pakistani politics has been horribly disfigured by the role Pakistan has been expected to play, for a half century, in US geopolitical plans. The problem is the U.S. needs Pakistan to be a client state, ready to do Washington's bidding. Unfortunately for Pakistan, that is likely to leave it in a perennial state of crisis.

The irony regarding Pakistan is that it and Israel were created at the same time as religious states to the exclusion of it's other former citizens. Both "partitions" resulted in large scale migrations and violence and the problems created by their existences have yet to be solved. Democracy is really not the answer for either one in that full democracy would have results which would not include "rule of law" and equal rights for the minority. I would like to point out that even some well-educated Pakistani's still believe that it is against the American Constituition for a Muslim to be elected President. Perhaps an education in the American system would help and a put for a Constitutional Republic vs "democracy".
