      The fact that the anchors get any wage at all is a joke. I hope it's not true because many of the story's here are recommended by the users.

    Here's one irate individual!

    The observation is correct however -- no comments after all this time but still out here!

    (I was going to add a comment concerning solar-powered water purification technology and its relevance to flood-prone regions such as B'desh, but there's no-one here.

    It'd be a waste).

      There's an unfortunate correlation between how poverty

      often finds itself residing in natural disaster zones.

      Bangladesh is one such place.

      I saw that what saved many Bangladeshis was a few levees

      that amounted to nothing more than piles of dirt.

      Perhaps, rather than send money after the fact, the world

      offer the expertise of the world's best at land reclamation

      and the funds to make it happen.

      It's too bad that for some reason we can't drop water, food and cheap shelter overseas as quickly as we can drop bombs.
