Our top story for the last week, with a whopping tally of 444 votes, was "World should ban human cloning, except medical: U.N." But we also had some lively discussions about John Mellencamp, moral relativism, and the thorny relationship between cetaceans and sonar.

Another great assessment of the week gone by, James. How do you maintain this ridiculously high level of quality? Quick, tell me before I run out of adjectives!

If you run out of adjectives, I can spot you some. I've got a big box of them right here.

Thanks again, James. I'm guessing you are a fan of SRV?

You're very welcome. If SRV stands for Stevie Ray Vaughn, yes, I admire the guy's wicked touch. If it's a more esoteric acronym, just let me know.

You're welcome, David. I do try to find quotes that seem representative, and that one was very Halkovian.

Chuckle..."Halkovian". I like it! Way to go David. And, a deft touch, Mr. Marcus. :)

The gremlins attacked somehow this week James!

        The story starts with:

'Our top story for the last week, with a whopping tally of 444 votes, was "World should ban human cloning, except medical: U.N."'

        and finishes:

'This story about waterboarding got the most comments for the week: 449.'

An error, unless there are factors for "top story" which are not being disclosed..

Plus! the highlighted link that accompanied the second one actually led to quite a different and more recent story of neo's.

Time to fire that copy editor - or to hire him/her!

Propeller members can vote (or sink) each story only once, but they can comment as many times as they want to, and often they do. Thus we can be sure that 444 members participated in the voting, while significantly fewer took part in the discussion.

Apples and oranges, gamahuche--or persimmons and grapes.

          * (Memo to editor James Marcus--It looks like this fellow may be looking for a job. Check to see if he has any useful abilities. You can probably get him cheap).

To assemble the WIR, I get two separate lists of stories, ranking them by votes and by comments. In that sense, we can have two "top" stories in any given week. But 1-2-Oscar's comment below is also on the mark. That is, 444 votes indicate a higher number of participants than 449 comments.

As for the blooper on the link--my bad! I'll fix it. Thanks for pointing it out.
