Yes, the entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well! Pretty soon there won't be any service left that someone won't try and make a profit off of. Just become one of the rich and privileged and you can have anything you want. The commoners can fend for themselves.

This confirms that the disparity between the rich and poor is becoming greater. The middle class is also being squeezed to the point where they are either joining one of these two groups.
There is nothing wrong with creating businesses and making money. There is something wrong when only the rich can receive serves that should be available to all citizens regardless of monetary ability.
This is an oversight within our government when it comes to common sense regulations of services that should cover every citizen. Yes, let the rich pay for "professionals" to take care of their disaster needs, but create or strengthen public, tax funded disaster programs that cover everyone.
This would be another great way for our government to create jobs for Americans.

DW, I think our Federal agencies have all been infiltrated by the Crazies. They've downsized , outsourced and some agencies simply vanished. To the point where it's created a shadow capitalistic industry with ties to the Bush/Cheney adm. Afterall, many of those in the private sector have made huge campaign contributions and have been rewarded greatly . While the federal Agencies that used to respond to disasters, has become nothing more than a skeleton crew. FEMA is but one example.
I can't say this has happened out of sheer coincidents. We just assumed those agencies would all still be in tact. While right under our noses they assigned inexperienced and inept appointees. They've been ransacking the Agencies we all assumed would always be there.Profiteering and organized crime on a new level.
I've nothing against capitalism, what I object to is Organized Crime from within our own gov.Resulting in rights for the wealthy mentality.Pay as you go for the rich only

insideoutgraphics,
I have to agree with you that our government has become more like the Mafia in its handling of government agencies and in siphoning the funding they get. The biggest problem is that it seems to be a Republican and Democratic joint effort to allow this to happen.
I respect the few politicians that stand up to this corruption, like Dennis Kucinich, but we need more than a few to turn this tide or America will become wholly corporate owned. I'm pretty sure we are close to that scenario now.

Dennis Kucinich I think is perhaps the only honest noncorporate politician left.I would love for him to become the next President. The others I simply don't trust as they all seem to be governed by $$$ and their consultants. I think if the media continues to ignore him, it can mean one thing. Those that are running know that he appeals to a large population. Which is why he's not been included in much of the media/polls except after yesterday...that sort of put him back on the camapign map/media. I hope that he can maintain a presence in the politically biased media. Thankfully, there is the net. I'm willing to bet that there are more Dennis Kucinich supporters out there than the media cares to give credit for.Kucinich upsets everyone elses game plans.
I cannot vote for any of the campaigners that the media seems to be attending to. I also think the world feels it's neccessary for Dennis Kucinich to win if we are to have peace. It would blow a hole in all corp plans.
