Two carloads of gunman ambushed a top aide to Iraq's Finance Ministry on Sunday in Baghdad, killing him and his driver, police said. The two were among 12 people killed or found dead in Iraq.

  engineer: Oh no the Republicans who still back Bush think he is a hero. It isn't his fault that Iraq is a sh*t pot of death and destruction for all who are there. He is making it more Democratic for all the world to see. Haven't you seen the improvements? Me either. Impeach the pair of unskilled loooooosers. Take America back from the greedy corporate bloody rulers whose only love is money and power.

  ranchhand: I'm one of those vets who came back to the hatred. I'll always back our troops. Just not the ones who send them when they are wrong. It is not the troops it has never been the troops who were wrong. It is the fouled up leadership and the lies they told to get us there. I also don't think all Republicans like war. We all bleed the same when hit. So lets make it bipartisan to get out of Iraq and take care of the war in Afghanistan. Kick OBL's as* and get rid of the bastar* forever.

  I get it, and I hope you can get this:
  You stated: "Vietnam they just wanted us to leave. Now they will follow us."
  I remember that "follow us here slogan" and the "domino slogan" used in the Vietnam era as well. They both were clearly unfulfilled "slogans" as the Vietnamese didn't follow us here, nor did any of their allied communist nations or organizations. It may again be an unfulfilled "slogan" with the current Iraq abortion. I don't know for sure and neither do you, nor does anyone else. That is just speculation, but I know how I would bet.
  Vietnam was a war, not won, not lost, just a mistake and a wasteful mistake at that. We marched in, we marched out. Ending it was that simple.
  You also stated: "Just like they turned against us when we came back from Vietnam."

  The majority of the US public turned against the futile nature of the Vietnam War and the futile loss of life and destruction, not against the troops. This is what we are doing today regarding the Iraq War.
  It's a given that some individuals disrespected the soldiers and disgraced themselves in doing so, but that doesn't mean "we, the majority of citizens, turned against you, the soldiers". Unless of course that is what you choose to believe and there is nothing that can be done about that except to request that you give up that belief, it is not productive and will serve no useful purpose in your life and future nor in anyone else's.
  We can choose to continue the Iraq War or we can choose to end it.
  I choose supporting US soldiers by not supporting continuation of the Iraq war and I hope you respect my choice.
  I respect your choice what ever it may be.

Being an Iraqi official appears to be great for your bank account, but terrible for your longevity. No wonder they try to siphon off all the money they can while they are still alive to do it.
