This is right out of cheney's playbook!

"They dragged us out, including the women," he said from the police station in the eastern city. "It's inhuman, undemocratic and a violation of human rights to enter a room and arrest people gathering peacefully there."

Read Matthew Rothchild's "You Have No Rights."

I have a feeling that rights activists are not likely to be the biggest threat to Musharraf.

The Bush administration already is talking about whether we need to step in. With what spare army, I wonder.

First Afghanistan with 31 million but a tiny army.

Second Iraq. 27 million and moderate army.

Next Iran with 75 million and 550,000 in arms.

Now add Pakistan with 165 million and nukes.

This is starting to sound eerily like another great military leader named George. That would be Lt. Colonel George Armstrong Custer. You remember his brilliant use of Bushian strategery. He bravely led his 208 officers and men out to surround 30,000 well armed Indian warriors. That was the battle of Little Big Horn, AKA Custer's Last Stand.

I guess you missed the part in the story where it said this: "U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice called for a return to democracy, as the American embassy urged citizens in Pakistan to remain at home and defer all nonessential travel."

Tehranchik is right, we are not happy. We are not happy that Musharref had to do this. We are not happy that al qeada has so much support in Pakistan. Hopefully they can all be wiped out and peace can be returned.
