The corporate business world is a competative place and although many us us veiw it as a place where money is no problem this is not always true. The points that you raise are important, I beleive we must improve our world and try to make in better for all mankind but this will cost mega bucks and the only place for the money to come from is you and I. If a company made a pledge to help on some of these isuues it would cost them much and they would have to raise prices. Human nature being as it is most of us look for the best price regardless of how we feel on such issues, as in all species the survival of number one seems to be the number one priority.

I think many folks vote with their wallets. I, for one, have never walked into a wal mart. I am certain the prices are fantastic, but, I am not impressed with the business protocal of wal-mart.
if wal-mart, on the other hand, did something on the human interest level, supporting those suffering with hunger, taking care of ravaged nations like Haiti and the DR, my stance would change...

"people in both the US and all over the world are suffering due to ultralow wages and benefits."
all the more reason you will not find me at wal-mart! I even sat in the wal mart parking lot after a hurricane. I needed some supplies. and decided to drive on to the next open store. which were few and far between. (even in time of dire need, i refused to walk into wal-mart.)
