Bush and his cronies care NOTHING about our history or about learning from it, about our troops, about the suffering of the Iraqis, or about what happened in Vietnam.
Bush and his cronies took us into Iraq to gain control of their OIL and to make MONEY. Greed and power and control - those were their motives, NOT 'terrorism' or 'democracy'.
Bush and his speechwriters are grasping at staws trying to continue to invent 'arguments' for support of the HUGE APPALLING DEBACLE that they have created in Iraq.
Bush's comments about Vietnam in relation to Iraq are totally nonsensical. And he STILL tries to infer some sort of link between 9/11 and Iraq! Idiocy!
I can't believe that the VFW audience even put up with his remarks, most of which were insults to the intelligence of the veterans, the military, and of the American people.

"The Washington Times notes Bush's speech drew a stern rebuke from Sen. Ted Kennedy, who said, "Iraq is George Bush's Vietnam."
This says it all....the left desperately wants another Viet Nam...they want America to lose...to turn tail and run. It fits in with their warped "America is evil" views. But Iraq is NOT Viet Nam. If we turn tail and run now, the terrorists will claim victory and, unlike the Vietnamese, they will come after us again and again. When that happens, the left will again blame the Republicans and the "neocons".
I was never in favor of military action against Iraq because I knew the President was wrong in his assessment. I don't believe he lied; but he was just wrong. Wrong about Islam, wrong about the Iraqis, and wrong about the "patriotism" of the left. However, once we got involved, I felt we had to see it through. The consequences of losing will be fatal for this country.
