"I don't know whether the miners will be found, but I'm not optimistic they will be found alive," said Bob Murray, chief executive of Murray Energy Corp., co-owner of the mine.

Murray said he told the families their loved ones would likely remain buried in the mine. "Their reception to me was probably not good. But at some time, the reality must sink in, and I did it as compassionately as I possibly could," he said.

    Very sad!!

I have to agree with Bob Murray unfortunately, it doesn't look good. God I hope I'm wrong.

This is the job they chose. The families know it. They were 1000 feet down , "WTF". Anything goes there.

Reality is, stop blaming anyone who farts and move on.

        Its totally Pathetic now.

listening to the interviews of locals, its the job they chose because it was the best paying job available and a way of life for these peops,if saftey violations were willfully ignored in the name of profit,i hope the families of these presumed dead miners end up suing and owning that mine

But there is blame here for us to find.

This pathetic owner and the government head of Mining have some share of the blame for the deaths of these miners. This owner was cited numerous times for safety violations and the government official blocked legislation, after the Virginia disaster, to shore up mine safety. Maybe this time the legislation will pass? Pathetic? Yes they are.

The families finally broke their silence in a press conference and angily placed responsibility on the owners. The families said that they have been requesting that a 36 inch hole(large enough for a rescue attempt) be drilled since the first day and have been ignored by Murray.

It's time for victims's family to put up headstones there and move on with a lawsuit. It's been 2 weeks now, what do you think? Miracle? Yeah right!!!!

Well, let's face it, Murray co-owns a mine; the guy obviously has money, not to mention the fact that his pockets keep getting fatter. You would think that as a mine owner that you'd want to be operating safetly from the start and at all times. Now because somebody wanted fat pockets full 'o' money, his mine in the long run, I hope, has to give some of it back to the families of the people who put it there to begin with.

Mining may be one of the most dangerous jobs in the world. And miners have to provide for their families just like everyone else, I personally would never do that as a profession, but I cannot speak against someone that does. It just comes right back to the almighty dollar.

My prayers are with all of the miners, rescue workers, and their families.
