Posted by: Alexia 1 year agoRescuers used bare hands and shovels Wednesday to claw through clay houses shattered by an onslaught of suicide bombings that killed at least 250 and possibly as many as 500 members of an ancient religious sect in the deadliest attack of the Iraq war. The U.S. military blamed al-Qaida in Iraq, and an American commander called the assault an "act of ethnic cleansing."

Remember when the story broke, the US Army was saying 30 dead and the Iraqi Army was saying at least 175. Expect a MASSIVE spin-mastering effort as September approaches with the US Army brass pulling out all the stops to deliver the truthiness required to prove "The surge is working... The surge is working... The surge..."

Further to that thought, today we learn that the long awaited report from General Petraeus and Ambassador Crocker really won't be a report by them at all.
