"Fortunately it didn't explode. If it had exploded it would have been a disaster," he added. He said nobody was hurt.

        Bologna....

Rainbow X-58 missile, 140 kilo RDX not 700. Also don't see why would someone just drop it and clueless why wouldn't this go off... I think they listed it's explosive load at 78 kilo.

Before you claim "disaster" look at the area:

Under other circumstances, the Georgian government could have considered the bomb dropping and fly over as an act of war on behalf of the Russians. Fortunately, that has not been announced, yet.

"I assess this fact as an act of aggression carried out by planes flown from the territory of another state," he added.

What will they do? Russians already occupy a portion of their country. With military. That's why they're about to join NATO.

Well "Oopski" comrade! I mean, I'm just glad it didn't explode and they had to deal with heavy casualties. Geez! There has to be an investigation oh how a near fatal mistake like that can happen, and make sure it don't happen again!

"Russia's air force said it had made no sorties over the area and said Tbilisi had produced no proof of its involvement."

Which is kind of interesting--aren't there almost always a million photographs accompanying something like this? No one had a camera? We'll see how it plays out.

This is good for a chuckle. Either 1) The Ruskies aircraft are getting so decrepit that bombs just fall off sometimes, or 2) they deliberately dropped the bomb and IT was so decrepit that it failed to explode. No wonder they don't want to admit anything - it's an embarrassment either way.

I highly doubt Russia would throw bombs at Georgia that don't explode. It makes just as much sense as Putin killing Litvinenko with polonium.

More than likely the Russian planes are in such poor shape bombs are falling off.

And why were Russian planes in Georgian airspace? Did they have permission for a fly over?

They were dropping it on Michael Vick's house in Georgia.

I know I know....that was rough. I'm dogging him out.

                Sorry.

For better understanding that information one should know very well the Georgian's mentality. It's a simple trick by the worst CIA agent, Mr. Saakashvili, the President of Georgia. Please only don't think that Georgia is one of the US States, inasmuch Georgians (former Soviet Republic) truly were sure that the famous Ray Charles' song "Georgia" devoted to Soviet Georgia. To make sure to Americans that they go to bed and wake up in the morning with the sole idea, that God bless America and in confirmation of it they called a street after Bush. What a love towards Bush and Americans. And "that awful Russians dropped bombs on Georgia" on the 6th of August, exactly on the same day but many years ago as Americans dropped A-bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. What a terrible and accidental coincidence! I am ashamed for the author of this stupid provocation. Batone Saakashvily shame on you.

I suppose the fact that Russia pays for more than half of the budget of the breakaway South Ossetian regime has nothing to do with the problem.

In South Osettia, there are billboards proclaiming Putin as their president and hero.

It seems we had a few planes violate airspace constraints and our airforce jockeys balked at shooting them down. You don't suppose its endemic from decades of relative inaction that everyone is hesitant to act less they set off the big one? Folks out beyond the great ponds are getting touchy, coincidently for incidents. I suppose a Georgian brother might get spooked by this in realms of realpolitik and given our current situations of ambiguity, I'd yield our Russian allies a free pass ... they're stronger, although perhaps not as sly. Besides our Russian compadres are being aggressively threatened from her south and increasingly challenged by the a new Europe discovering her historical push over the precipice of unity ... fully assimilated aspirations of conquests, armed and dangerous. Moral caverns are breaching between us and Europe, while Russia's always been tolerant of our dogging assertion on the battlefields of our mutual destinies. Besides, the Red Chinese trust them. Well..?

I think GWB disguised airforce 1 to look like a Russian fighter and dropped the bombs

Micheal Vick lives in the US, not in Georgia.

If Georgia would just take military control of South Ossetia on its own and get the Russians out, then NATO won't have to intervene later.

The worst part is that fools like yourself don't read about or know about the games Russia plays with its former republics. From the occupation of part of Romania, to the South Ossetian problem, to Russian jets crashing in Lithuania (a part of the EU), and the fomenting of ethnic tension in Latvia and Estonia.

It must be nice and quiet... and ignorant... when you live in the US and see only White House-approved news these days.

Here is the deal, if a foreign plane violates your airspace, you shoot it down, before it drops the bomb, and then you present the evidence to rouge state and world community. What Georgia did, is really, really pathetic. And in a way funny.

If it comes from Russia, the first thing anyone should do is check it for radiation, saw a lot of pictures of people at the site but not 1 radiation detector.
