We all know that by using the word Human you speak of the people of the country. This country is excellent at pointing the finger somewhere else. Try blaming Governments and Wars, Nuclear testing, bomb testing, chemical waste, etc... That's where all this global warming shiit is coming from. GOD calls the shots and you all fuucked up by trying to change the world that he created and now you don't know what to expect. Remember Science is a "practice." They are no good at it so they practice until they find a "sort of similar" solution to the problem. Don't blame us blame the people in control of the people. We are the only living people in the whole universe and you can't stay satisfied with what you got.

Yeh, I would like to respond.....HUH!!!
And you are not pointing a finger.
You have been taught that God created everything and is everywhere all the time. Question: What other entity meets the same criteria? Answer: NATURE! THE COSMOS!
One more silly question. Who is the more evil, those who practice it or that which CREATED it and permits it to thrive?
Please take your deifying elsewhere. This is a SCIENTIFIC discussion.
Thank you and peace to you.

Did you read the reports on the 2 degree lower temperatures in the hemisphere when Bush grounded all aircraft after 9-11. Wen back up when Jets started flying again. How about the catalytic converters in those jets -take ozone and make it oxygen for burning and breathing. Of course, it was aresol cans causing damage . . .
Big business should not find a way to cut the damages they cause, it is us, the common folk, causing all the problem - we need to sacrifice- give me a break, I've heard it all...
Of course we know what to expect, it is all written down for us. We are simply taking what God gave us, and seeing how it works. While I love God, I sometimes wonder, how much of what is available for us is to carry out his edict - on that day, you will surly die. . .

I read this article and was left with one question -- if all this is correct, where are the hurricanes this year? There haven't been any. I guess they formed so quickly we missed them -- eh?
It is clear that the "global warming is our fault" advocates believe that they can use any event to justify their cause -- which is, of course, merely junk science. Science has credibility because it can predict future events. So far, the global warming weenies have been wrong two years in a row about the hurricane pattern in the Atlantic. Their "science" -- such as it is -- obviously fails to predict reality.
I guess Al Gore needs hurricanes to get elected or get another Oscar, it doesn't matter which because it is all about power and money, not about truth and reality.

Moss, "Other scientists say the report draws improper conclusions from partial data."
Again, science is only man's best guess, and since it is limited to what we know, or think we know rather, at the moment, there is a very extreme chance we are just plain wrong.
As far as "Global Warming", this is split in the field just like the "polar shift" issues. They are becoming more evenly divided on the issues now because they are figuring out , "Hey, we got a degree, but guess what, we really don't know it all."

Those idiots who don't believe in global warming are the ones following the money. They've done a background check on the few scientists who disagree with cause of global warming and turned out they're all getting paid big time by the Oil companies. They are the same scientists who claims smoking does not cause cancer two decades ago. Don't be fooled by them. Global warming is real and humans are causing it.

It is true that climate change is occurring and that a warming trend has manifested itself. However, humans are not the primary cause. Humans may well be contributing to this phenomena in a minute fashion.
Consider these facts:
1. Increased atmospheric temperatures increase the ability of the atmosphere to retain water vapor. The most abundant greenhouse gas in our atmosphere.
2. Temperatures must also increase prior to carbon dioxide levels increasing.
3. Deforestation (caused by humans) reduce carbon dioxide processing.
4. Our planet's orbit around the sun changes from a near perfect circle to an elliptical shape on a regular basis with respect to cosmic time. (about every 100,000 years I believe the interval is)
5. As the article implies, This study was a "cherry picked" one just like the EPA's second hand smoke report. You know the one.

True, but not in the ways were being told by the same idiots and money grubbers causing it. Did you know that they found that plants produce nitrogen at night? Nitrogen has many times the global warming effects as co2. Yet global warming increased dramatically as they rain forests and plankton were destroyed at record rates. Yes, Global Warming is being caused by humans, but the majority by a few, very wealthy, companies who don't want to lose their money rackets by revealing the major causes.

Never mind the money, don't you realize how much hot air is exhausted into the atmosphere on discussing this subject - Now there is your real cause ( at least it makes as much non-sense to me as all the other bull)

Ah, the idiots are at it again. Water vapor and ungulate digestive gases are the real culprits of global warming. These two elements occur on Earth. The other external factor is the cycle of the Sun. Man has no influence over any of these. The man made carbon/Co2 talking point is just bunk and hocus pocus science. Give it up. This story is junk.

Here is an excerpt from an interesting scientific source. I have attached a link at Lew Rockwell.com
Please read it.
"Today's global warming is part of a natural 1,500-year, plus or minus 500-year, solar cycle operating for at least a million years. The Earth's climate has warmed and cooled nine times in the past 12,000 years, in lock step with the waxing and waning of the sun's magnetic activity (Science 2001;294[7 December]:2130-2136). Over the last 1,200 years there has been a "Medieval Warming" (900-1300), when Greenland was green; a "Little Ice Age" (1300-1850), when New York harbor froze, and people could walk from Manhattan across the ice to Staten Island a mile away (in 1780); and the current global warming (1850-?). Rather than "global warming," a better term for this phase of the solar cycle is "Modern Warming."

But has mankind ever changed the chemical makeup of our atmosphere before? Perhaps, even technology runs in cycles 0- once everything is computerized, if an ice age or catastrophic event occurs, it would be lost, a simple disk, with no way to read it, over time no knowledge that it could once be read, or contains data - and if re-invented, what are the odds that the same computer language would be created?
It seems that basic biology indicates that if we replace the elements in our atmosphere with other elements, then the reactions will change - if we invert the earth, take whats inside, make it gaseous, and put it in the air, we are altering the chemical makeup and destroying the earths balance. Or, are we simply obtaining those elements that caused a previous climatic conditions, putting it in the air, and watching the same chemicals cause the same reactions as they did in the past?

The data that AGW is based on is not so good.
Have a look at an "official" station of record that gives us the temperature signals we use to figure out what is/was happening temperature wise:

And your method of data aquiry and conclusion ?? - hot air I presume, or maybe you thermometer on your porch that you looked at last summer, admittedly historic research results are limited, but I hope not even you deny the exestance of natural cycles.

Aren't we well into huricane season(June-Nov)? How many "killer hurricanes" have we endured so far this season? This season when runaway global warming is spawning them like rabbits on Viagra? Oh, that's right, NONE.
Not saying we aren't due, just that the entire subject of climate change and our part in it needs a little more work before we go investing in "carbon futures".

I am really starting to wonder if "global warming" is real, and if it's really OUR fault.
As for Hurricanes, here are a few live ones on video:

Global warming is real. period. it is a result of natural sun cycles and oceanographic currents. The rest is Globalonay played out by backwater scientists looking for funding and eco idiots who were 30 years ago telling us about the great 2000 Ice age..
Political ******s, (both left and right) news ******s (mainly leftist) and money grubbing alleged scientists (mostly dumbasses) want to push some big issue so someone does not notice all the corruption and thievery that all three of these groups participate in regularly.

Wizard,
I have advanced a VERY unpopular theory about "global warming". Technically there IS NO global warming. Look at the placement of the data collection stations used to advance the GW agenda. Many are placed in the centers of industrial parks, airports, rooftops and the like. They are surrounded by a sea of concrete and asphalt, which in no way would register higher temperatures than any other data station.
There is however REGIONAL WARMING due to OVER-DEVELOPEMENT. The proof can be seen in your local weather reports. I live outside of Philadelphia. The temperature in my backyard is 6 to 10 degrees COOLER than the reported temperature in the city.
My solution.... less McMansions and Megamalls, and lose a few strip malls too. Open spaces allow for radiational cooling which would help regulate REGIONAL WARMING.

Last year was supposed to be a record year for hurricanes ..... didn't happen.
This year's hurricane prediction has been revised DOWNWARD twice so far and we still haven't had so much as a tropical storm.
Why do people listen to predictions for weather, and weather events months out when they can't get it right from day to day?

It's the end of the world as we know it!!! Life goes on and things change!
The earth used to be covered with ICE!!!!
Suppose that was Bush's fault too.
It's pretty sad how Hollywood can pick something and run with it and a bunch of bored numb heads start a fanatical folowing.
I think we should start targeting vegitarians or somethng??
find some stupid scientific paper that states that veggies are actually aliens from another planet and we are KILLING THEM!
Maybe ALBORE will be the founding veggie!!!

Here's a sentence I found in the article...
"Other scientists say the report draws improper conclusions from partial data"
I would LOVE to read the OTHER scientist's point of view instead of this one-sided liberal view of global warming...
We NEVER hear both sides from the media, only the liberal perspective...

FSU92grad,
I know what you mean. I find myself looking for another perspective, but I never find it. The left-slanted media only reports its sensationalized, sky-is-falling viewpoint. Sure, they'll sprinkle a couple of facts in here and there so they can continue to call themselves "journalists", but make no mistake - - there is a DEFINITE slant in "news" reporting.

Funny how you don't hear about Dr. Gray in the media. Dr. William Gray may be the world's most famous hurricane expert. More than two decades ago, as professor of atmospheric science and head of the Tropical Meteorology Project at Colorado State University, he pioneered the science of hurricane forecasting.
When asked if GW is behind the increase in Hurricanes in the last 10 years, Dr. Gray resonds, "I am very confident that it's not. I mean we have had global warming. That's not a question. The globe has warmed the last 30 years, and the last 10 years in particular. And we've had, at least the last 10 years, we've had a pick up in the Atlantic basin major storms. But in the earlier period, if we go back from 1970 through the middle '90s, that 25 year period รข;; even though the globe was warming slightly, the number of major storms was down, quite a bit down."

just like everything else ..hurricane technology has improved in the last 100 years giving the storms higher efficiency and speed--with wind tunnel testing and improved aerodynamics ..modern hurricanes can power up or down almost at will..usually depending on the tax advantages from the current administration--like snakes and poisonous spiders..they arent good or evil..they just are what they are..huge destructive storms that dont mean any harm but cant help themselves..like the land shark..they deserve our respect and sympathy..and large govt programs for their rehabilitation

Truth: Our planet is changing, and we are and have always been a major part of that change.
Opinion/Speculation: Pretty much everything else. Unless you can go up to a cloud and ask it his/her stance on the issue, you have no place to go around claiming your word as total, unrelenting fact.
One other thing: I'm so glad Netscape attempts to issue news to the public, and yet I spy no story that is without a slant. Then again, that's the way all politics are nowadays, so I'll just shut up and wait.

Yeah...I for one am glad for global warming. If it wasn't for the massive influx of CO2 emissions in the past 3 decades made by those dirty money-lovin republicans and their evil corporations it would have only been 66.89 degrees on July 28th in West Virginia instead of the horribly hot and unbearable 67 degrees thats destroys life and ecosystems.

FYI--nobody is disputing if it's real. The dispute is whether its unequivably because of man, as your Messiah Al Gore claims, or if it's part of the earth/sun cycles.

And us "Libs" aren't saying it's unequivocally because of man. We actual KNOW it's part of the natural cycle. What we ALSO know is that man ADDS TO global warming.
