Security Faux Pas At Fox »
Posted by: JamesMarcus 1 year, 1 month agoIt appears that FOXNews.com will be wearing a red face today, after allowing a massive data leak on its own website and that of a major publishing group. As many as 1.5 million users may have had their personal information compromised, with several gigabytes of data at least temporarily accessible.

It's not the first time FOX made a serious mistake. Watch the WNYW (FOX5, New York) video clip of the "airplane" hitting the WTC on 9/11 and you'll see the plastic nosecone pop out the other side! About a quarter second later the video blanks out for a split second when they realize their mistake. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6V-ssCV1jA
Compare the newscasters from the FOX5 video above to WPIX, channel 11, New York. I do find it strange that newscasters on two different channels were using the same phrases on a developing story on live TV, don't you? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=woOrxB8c9zg
For an analysis between those two channels, as well as others, watch this 10 minute video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_ySSJ_L6Zs
Also watch the *new* 9/11 film "September Clues" (currently in 6 parts) which contains new analysis you have not seen before:

tsteele93 JohnQPublic puppyluver323,
Thanks for the negs...and not even enough balls to comment. So this is what your party is all about. Slam everyone in secret and not bother to even talk about an issue that seems to mean so much to you!!! Why dont we talk about anything that you want to talk about or are you afrid that it could be so easy to see the light as my simple post???

Having a million and half people information exposed by a major news network is not a non-story

Would this story have been pinned if it were CNN that made this blunder? I remember about a year or so ago having my IP broadcast by Netscape for all to see. Major faux pas by Netscape. There was not even an apology by Netscape to anyone that I'm aware of. There definitely was not a pinned story about that "non-story".

No, I'm the person that pointed out the truth and fact that one cannot be a combat rated pilot of a supersonic interceptor by being stupid, but I'm not surprised that a liberal like you would twist the truth around to support you agenda.
So much for your opinion. And you intelligence level.

Why in the name of "news" is this story not only on Netscape but at the top?? The number of comments recieved after 10 hours time should be a good indicator. Not familiar with "joeeddie" but he's right, this story would be in the can immediately if it were MSNBC or CNN. How did this turn into a 9/11 conspiracy issue? Oh yeah don't forget, if you have good evidence of the conspiracy please turn it in to your local democratic legislator. There's no reason they would keep it under wraps, correct?
"Not surprisingly, the network itself is downplaying the incident."
Haha, yeah I know every news network tries to redflag it's mistakes (especially boring crap like this) for everyone to see. Dan Rather was very forthcoming.

why is it always the "right-wingers" who are publicized when they make a mistake? the NY times has made thousands of countless errors, leaking information or with holding information--does anyone who voted for this story ever listen to the news? When Bush makes a mistake, its headline news. But when any of the people from the other side of the isle makes a mistake- there is a cover-up. Wait, wasn't Clinton impeached for lying under oath? if the person in the lead of the democratic party can get away with something like this, i guess everyone else in the party is given a free ride! You are all living in a 9/10 world. wake up!!! we have had a 9/11, and you all need to wake up! there was no conspiracy. if you belive that there was a conspiracy, GET A LIFE!!

" for christ sakes I just hope we took out all of the pictures of the Fox News staff bending over and kissing Dick Cheney's big smelly behind before we interviewed him. Also the Ann Coulter staff sex romps might be damaging..

Let's see if FOX owner Rupert Murdoch fires another high up employee like he did over his OJ Simpson book blunder. Murdoch is great at playing the 'air-head' on cue.
There is a group of supposed conservatives who circle around Murdoch because FOX is their air-time. It is amazing how people will sell out for money. Sadly they lead others astray who inadvertently defend him as well.
Debra...

OMG! You people just love to bash anything you associate with being conservative. How many company's have security issues. How many of you same people have attacked Apple for it's Ipod security flaw which can broadcast personal imformation. Is that another right wing attempt to destroy the world? Folks, get a life and try critisizing real stories not any attempt you have to get in a "dig" on the right, and you wouldn't lose so much credibility.
As is, it's obvious you have no objective point of view!

How about, "Faux Pas at FAUXNews" - the station that distorts the news for you anytime any day any hour - & gives away your personal data to anyone.

I saw on Olbermann tonight that Fox news did it again! They labeled Arlan Specter as a democrat during his grilling of Alberto Gonzalez. Here's the link.
