            Iran does NOT have enough refining-capacity and can't build more refineries as they are building up their nuclear capabilities.... And Irak, freed from US troops, will have its hands and feet full trying to rebuild their entire infrastructure, so the idea that terrorirsts can "lay their hands on all that Iraki-oil" is just that, a buzz-statement bereft of any immediate meaning!

            What if the US leaves Irak but agrees with surrounding countries (except Iran of course!) to have the bulk of the US forces be stationed there. Sometimes, it is better to step back and get a better perspective. Also, by leaving Irak, Al-Queida and its top may be enticed to occupy that country, which by now is much more "familiar terrain" to US Forces than those inhospitable mountain-ranges on the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan...Once out in the open, it would be easier to trap them!

Bush is totally to blame for it all... worst pres in history, impeach now as the first best step to winning the war on terror... and turn him and his cronies over to the world criminal court he denies. This would tell the world we reject his foreign prisons, torture at his discretion, Gitmo, pre-emptive aggressor war, unilateralism, political assasination by our soldiers, the removal of habeas corpus for detainees, the use of hearsay against detainees, the unwarranted monitoring of americans, the corrupt politicization of our own justice department.... the list goes on!

                or Maryland, why can't there be an international

                peace keeping zone??

            The Kurds will be too busy keeping Turkey off their backs. Read recently where 140,00 Turkish troops were amassed on the border. Turkey hates the Kurds.

            Iran is as big a threat as a-Qaeda. Leaving now means Iran can walk in and take over. That's as bad as anything. The Iraqi prime minister in a story today is quoted saying they can handle their own security but need more training and weapons. We need to give them time to do that.

          It doesn't matter what party your talking about. There is plenty of sin to go around when congress gave Bush the authority to decide whether and when our military goes to war. Having said that, Bush and Cheney should be impeached because they took advantage of many being scared after 911 and claimed a link between Bin laden and Hussein. To my knowledge there is no credible evidence to support Bin Laden being the master mind of the attacks either. Whatever the case may be, maybe our government's CIA shouldn't have trained bin laden making him a CIA operative. Are you going to believe what Bush tells you just because he says it is so? In that respect, the government's story is simply another conspiracy story where 15 or so hijackers got together to do what they were claimed to do.

            It's not a draft. When you enlist or sign up in the military, you have to assume, you're not there to knit. The military and war is not a game, and if it is, it is not a fun game. Many signed up because they got this free money for college, then realized there was a catch to that free money. If the United States government or any government for that matter offers you something for free you have to learn to ask, how much is it going to cost me?

            There is NO such thing as a FREE puppy either.

How can you honestly say that someone did not join the military knowing that htere is a chance to go to war?             I voted to bring troops back home to all the children waiting here in the US who haven't had their mothers and/or fathers in their lives for the last five years. By the way, why should people with loved ones putting their lives on the line for their country want for anything? Seems to me those who "support" them in Congress should make it unnecessary for them to have to rely on charity. But maybe that's just my bizarre way of thinking...Why don't you NEOCLOWNS ask the IMPORTANT questions instead of perpetually BITCHING about what Democrats are doing?

            The big failure was not rebuilding the way we should have at the start. Indirect Warfare has a political side, It includes courts that charge and bring to trial in short order anyone committing crimes. It must be public and clearly fair. That wins the Hearts and Minds. No special status i.e. Enemy combatant. They are just criminals. Read up on the Malayan Emergency 1948-1960. Use of Police is a must, back them up and protect them with troops only. This is probably no longer winnable since we have looked not much different than the Guy we removed to many of the people and they don't know who to trust. If they don't trust us they will never report bad guys in the woods. Rummy abused our Special Warfare guys. They are trained to work with the people and take on the bad guys face to face, eye to eye and win. He misused them. They know how to protect innocents caught in the middle and succeed. There is a much bigger picture to winning. We are not there.

      So because killing people and blowing up things keeps people employed, we should continue haphazardly criss-crossing the globe spoiling for our next conflict? Seems to me our troops would be better off homeless than they are walking around in a foreign country thousands of miles away from their families wondering if today will be the day they step on a grenade.
