News – The City of New York is trying to persuade its people to give up bottled drinks and consume tap water instead to help protect the environment. It has launched an advertising campaign to promote the cause, with local restaurants encouraged to join in.
thats good actually because I live in NYC and I drink the tap water regularly. Supposed to be really good so I figured why not? Other people were saying that it was not good but turns out that they were completely wrong.
i once saw an article that said nyc tap water was actually better than most if not all of the bottled water that is out there.....
it just goes to prove what slick marketing is capable of doing these days.....i just want to see what the reaction is going to be from all the people who are promoting global warming......global warming be damned........drinking plain old tap water just not fashionable!!!!!!!!! lol
NYC water is regularly judged as one of the best, if not the best, city water in the WORLD. Their water chemistry is mimicked by bakers all over the U.S. in order to create things like authentic-tasting bagels, boutique breads and pizza crusts, the same way brewers mimick the waters of London and Munich. One restaurant I baked at a few years back ordered bread from a specialty company that had NY style rye bread, made with water formulated like that.
So, when you hear someone say it's not good, you can pretty much figure that whoever is saying that really has no idea what they're talking about.
On the other hand, if what you're drinking at home is well water, you may want to give some careful consideration to what's in it.

I wonder if all the Evian drinking, global warming espousing pundits will suddenly switch to good old NYC tap water.......highly doubt it.........San Francisco is promoting the same.......
Don't they know that the plants that bottle water emit carbons? By their logic, we should all boycott bottled water to stop "global warming". Of course we all know that it is not caused by man anyway so drink up everyone.
