Speaking on condition of anonymity, an Interior Ministry source told Aswat al-Iraq that, "Three guards working for the Dar al-Salam Bank located on Sa'adoun Street in Central Baghdad were able to attack the bank . . . stealing a sum of up to $282 million dollars, and fled in an unknown direction after implementing the operation."

Apparently Allah would NOT buy lots of explosives and bullets so he could kill many infidels. That's what I suggested yesterday, but for some insane "reason" the remark was removed by someone at Netscape. Something stupid is going on here. I got a message from WCFIELDS saying he was leaving this site because of being censored. Unless he posted up something much worse than what he claimed.... he's right to do so. All of a sudden this appears NOT to be an open forum, but is rather now required to be "politically correct" in every nuance. If I want politically correct news and commentary, I'll watch channel 7. Notice that Teech got censored too. And for something no worse. I think maybe there is a religious zealot working at Netscape. Possibly a Muslim.

Whenever you commit a crime, just make sure that there are other, bigger crimes taking place. The other crimes will relieve you of any retribution, prosecution, or punishment.
I mean, after all, look at all the money that Cheney, Halliburton, Bush, et al, stole.
Excellent strategy and timing by the Baghdad Burglers.

The money (9 Billion) is missing, no one seems to dispute that. But under the CPA there was a lot of malfeasance. If you consider that bribery is one of the chief ways of doing business in the M.E. some of it could be accounted for under that category. We'll just write it off but the Chinese will still want us to pay it back. As if we would ever settle up with them on what we have borrowed over the last 4 years.
Note the deficit was apparently reduced to 205 Billion and you will hear nary a Repubiblican dare mention this, as what is off-budget amounts to the largest contribution to the debt in US History. Limbaugh or some other assorted right wing loon may try to insert this and dittoheads may see it as a triumph. But in truth it is a travesty.

You're surprised ?? Where do you think all your tax $$$ are going ?? Not to protect the troops with armor, etc...but to line the pockets of the rich in Baghdad.....and the Cheny, Halliburton folks......that's the reason we can't withdraw...they haven't finished bankrupting this country yet !

I wish the thieves would spend all that money on IUD's instead of IED's. Then maybe there wouldn't be so many of them running around blowing things up.

Things aren't bad enough for the people in Baghdad what with the US stealing money in their name right and left, trying to set up a grab of a huge percentage of their oil reserves, and the indiscriminate killing of civilians by our "security" forces. Now we get a multi-million dollar bank heist right in the middle of the Surge.
Now THAT'S some nice security for the people there, eh?
Iraq - their money isn't safe, their people aren't safe, and their roads aren't safe. I'll bet they're lovin' our brand of democracy right about now.
When you look at everything we've done in that country, getting rid of Saddam Hussein was about the only good thing so far. Everything else we've touched has turned to... well, you know what I'm talking about.

Come on! Yes, bad stuff has happened in Iraq as a result of some bad people but a lot of good has happened too. The media just seldom covers good as they love to focus on negative stuff to keep ratings high. I'm not saying that all is well there-I just wish more of the good that has happened there would be reported.

What little "good" that has occurred in IRAQ is costing us about a BILLION DOLLARS every 5 days or so...Great F***ing
investment wouldn't you say??? Al Quaeda is successfully bankrupting us...what am I saying?...GEEZ, I just realized we are the largest DEBTOR NATION in the WORLD...so I guess that means WE ARE ALREADY BANKRUPT! Maybe it was the CIA that performed the dirty deeed to help our budget deficit out (just a teensy weensy bit). I'd laugh if it wasn't so pitiful. We need a gold backed currency, and badly. I'm SOOO tired of the US Gov't and FEDERAL RESERVE Bankers stealing me blind via INFLATION. Aren't you? VOTE for RON Paul (the only honest man in WASH DC).

Well that heist should help finance the insurgents and terrorists nicely. What the heck is so much American currency doing in a Iraqi bank anyway, especially guarded by Iraqi guards.Wake up America, sounds like the Iraqi security forces are loaded with factions of your enemy.

UNBELIEVABLE!
There is $10,000 in a 100 pack of $100 dollar bills.
Each $10,000 pack weighs 102 grams.
The stolen $282,000,000 has 28,200 packs of $100 with $10,000 each.
The weight of 102 grams per pack times 28,200 packs is 2,876,400 grams, or 2,876.4 kilograms.
There is 2.2 pounds per kilograms, so 2,876.4 kg is about 6328 pounds.
Those guys had to carry a lot of weight in their pockets.
The $282,000,000 in US Dollars weighs about 6328 pounds, not including the extra packaging.
This amount of money is usually sealed in plastic bag "bricks" of 10x packs of $10,000 ($100,000 bricks).
There are no US Banknote denominations higher that $100 in use at this time.
This also assumes that the money was strictly $100 banknotes, and no smaller denominations, which would increase the overall weight.
Plus it all had to be on several pallets just to handle it all.
THIS JOB COULD NOT HAVE BEEN DONE WITHOUT A LOT OF EXTRA HELP....

It probably was Neil Bush scheming and stealing money like he has done in the past. Neil Bush stole $1.3 billion from the American taxpayer and was required to pay back a very small token amount. Neil is known to spend a lot of time in the Middle East especially Dubai.
