Are low temps in the 90s also common? I read that Death Valley, CA is expecting a low tonight of 93. Sounds really excessive to me. Then again, the humidity level there is 5%.

Hah - it won't be long before CA has it's share of crazy hot weather. I live in Sacramento and it's 108 today, it's supposed to get hotter, and last July there were something like 5 days in a row at 117. The year before that our A/C broke and it got to 105 in our house. I'm thankful it isn't 130 or anything, but it is still far too hot.

the Republican conservative hawks are buying up the property while disavowing global change.
.....
yes, we know. It seems that no matter what happens, it is always the republicans fault according to you. Vesuvius erupted and buried Pompeii and Herculaneum on August 24, 79ad. Pliny the elder saw the eruption from a distance and sailed into port to help with the rescue, but died in the melee. This too, of course was the fault of the republicans. Kobayashi's jaw problems during the annual hot dog eating championship on July 4 was the fault of the republicans. Jimmy Carter deposing the shah of Iran and helping facilitate bringing back ayatollah khomeni from france, giving rise to the islamic revolution which started all this islamo-nazism around the world was the republicans fault too. Why don't you just type DEMS GOOD REPUBS BAD on every post and get it over with? BTW, that bunch of idiots running the GOP right now are NOT I repeat NOT conservatives. Rockefeller repubs the lot of them.

Can't argue with that kind of logic. Finding the humor in a bad situation is a good trait to possess. As bad as the situation is I still got a chuckle. Thanks.

Remember last year we were told to expect dozens of cat4 or 5 'canes, and not a single one made landfall? Likewise, this year has not been very eventfull so far. wanna know why?
I have it on good authority that the hurricane making machine "they" used to unleash katrina on 'nawlins since "george bush doesn't care about black people"(according to the genius kanye west)was mothballed temporarily by Cheney and Halliburton because the libs were onto them. They're waiting on c-ray naggin' and K Blankcheck to finish rebuilding 'nawlins on the same spot it was on (a hole) so they can flood it all over again.

"They're rioting in Africa, They're striking in Spain
There's hurricanes in Florida, and Texas need rain
The whole world is festering with unhappy souls
The French hate the Germans, the Germans hate the Poles
Ialians hate Yugoslavs, South Africans hate the Dutch
(and I don't like anybody very much!)
But we can be thankfull, and Tranquil and Proud
for MAn is endowed, with a mushroom shaped cloud
and we know for certain on some lovely day
someone will push the button
and we will all be blown away!
They're rioting in Africa,Ther's strife in Iran
what nature does not do to us
will be done by our fellow man"

better be sure you won't be there with them. Remember, YOU don't choose where you go when you die. If you could decide that for yourself, you would be God. He had already chosen his elect before the foundation of the world the Bible clearly says so, and that is why at the judgement on the last day the goats are told, "depart from me I NEVER knew you". For all who disagree, I would remind you "how God loved Jacob and hated Esau before either was born or either had done any good or evil so that his purpose according to election should stand".

Perhaps if we repurpose those Windfarms to Blow, instead of spinning in the wind, we could blow the rain Westward. Or maybe those hots spots could suck harder.

Fred Thompson may be a great actor(I wouldn't know,I only watch news ,weather, sports) and have a great presonality but president?I doubt it. Fred will have a problem with foriegn relations, the budget, federal spending(has to get back the trillons going over seas) and public relations. There is only one person to fit the presidental slot, and that is Mitt Romney. he is the only one that can make Hillary and Ossama look like the fools they are when answering serious questions pertaining to the national debt and how to logically repair it without raising taxes. He is a leader, an economist, good communicator, and truthful enough to tell everyone that the Russians are not really our friends.

OK, I'm convinced. Glow Bull Worming is indeed true!!! And now, beyond a shadow of a doubt, no less....
Just look at this story! Why, there's more heat in these places now than there has been for 2 or 3 years at least! What an original story!
I hear there is a consensus of at least two scientists that this story is the final and deciding nail they've successfully hammered into the coffins of the Glow Bull Worming Deniers.
LOL!!! Sweat, Sweat, Sweat. LOL!!! Sweat, Sweat, Sweat.

Yeah I know the argument,,, if it rains,, it's man fault,,,, if it's a drought the same thing,,,,, hot, cold, warm, rain, storms,,,, yeah I don't get it....... there was a reent study where they cored to 1.5 miles into an ice pack and found that the planet was 12 degrees warmer back before man's time,,, how does one explain that?

Using the term "belief in global warming" is not an accurate term as it casts scientific findings into the arena of "belief systems". Belief systems are systems which have no scientific basis. Religions, communism, national socialism, and many other systems are not based in a scientific system based on logical thinking, but on belief. If you are in a belief system, it is very difficult to change your mind, since facts or logical explanations seem ridiculous to you. Even today there are flat earthers who think that the walk on the moon was faked. It is indeed hard to change a belief system. Let's try to refrain from using the term "belief" when discussing global warming, evolution, or the moonwalk. This only puts the terminology back into something which a "believer" can think they have "logical" arguments against. Global warming should only be discussed as to it's scientific basis.

I remember someone last winter making the astounding observation that it was -26 in some town in Minnesota. Yeah, that's pretty cold, but it's like FEBRUARY. Might be a little colder than usual, but I don't think I'd call that alarmingly unusual. I've seen it 110 where I live on occasion, no one ever said it was global warming, we just said it was hotter than hell... like you said, "it's summer."

-26 is common in northern MN. In fact, -30s to -40s are natural yearly occurrences. (record for lower 48 of -52 recorded a couple of years ago)
I lived near the Canadian border in 94' when temps did not go above 0 for 30 days. Typical daily high temps during this period were -20 to -15, lows -35 to -45.
Global Warming hysteria among the back-woods residents kicked off that year at around 5 to 10 above.
