Please Don't Interview Paris Hilton »
Posted by: Alexia 1 year, 1 month agoWhen I was growing up, my hero was my mother. She came to this country from Peru at age 22 with little money and speaking no English. She had arrived in the summer, with two friends, to work and have an experience abroad. But when the end of the summer came, instead of packing up with her friends, my mother decided to stay. Truly, she'd known she was going to stay before she even left Peru.

I say we do the same thing about the Ann Clutter articles!!!
just boycott her Hate Speech. I think she has done more to ruin American Values than Paris.
and the troops??/if you really care...Bring them home NOW!!!
they are not play things to bake cookies for, they are real humans who are more needed at home than in that endless pit of dispare we created in Iraq.

Kuddos to your mom and your family!!
Paris Wilton is just another spoiled little rich brat who will say or do anything that she thinks people want to hear.
She is rich but has never worked to earn a cent and she got off easy. She and all the brats like her should have their trust funds cut off for a year and sent to the streets to get a job and try like a lot of the rest of us to make it in the real world.
I bet they have never had to decide wehther to pay a utility bill or just use the money for a steak because it has been weeks since you tasted anything that didnt come out of a box or a can????? It is sickening how spoiled the youth of this country are.

Did you catch the Larry King T.V. interview with that big pink rubber plaything? Hoo Boy! Larry needs to retire and that rubber doll needs to be returned to the porno shop. If they're gonna make those things so they can talk it needs to at least sound half-way intelligent.

It just hit me. There's a simple way for Paris to redeem herself, although I'm not sure she's still eligible with a recent misdemeanor conviction.
Paris Hilton should join the armed services.
No, I'm not kidding. She wants us all to believe she's not just a party girl? What better way for her to accomplish this! Jail was "the hardest thing she's ever done"? Well, it's time to take the game to the next level. Thousands of young American women make it through basic training every year, many with ADHD or claustraphobia or whatever it was that made her curl up in the fetal position in that jail cell for days.
She's 26, she's young and healthy, and what better way for her to give something back to the country that has provided her with such a good life so far?
C'mon, Paris, don't be like OJ "searching for the real killers" somewhere around the green on the 15th hole. Show us you really have changed!

What a touching testimonial to your Mom Alexia! Cherish her memory, give thanks for the opportunity to have been blessed to have known such a wonderful lady.
I never get into the Paris articles anyway, won't be hard for me to not support them.

Larry King finished his journey to the basement in my view. Once upon a time he was a good interviewer and had good guests on his show. NO MORE. It had been bad; now it has become unimaginable.
Charlie Rose has a good show - guests who mean something and good conversation. Brown-nose King? fugeddaboutit!
Alexia - ditto to the other comments about your mom.

Part of the reason why we have illegal immigrants here is because of what the United States did to Central and South American countries--replacing popularly elected leaders with dictators who slaughtered their own people and having Central and South Americans slave away to provide us clothes and jewelry for very little each day. Why wouldn't they come to the United States, when they can make at least $7.00/hour (I know a lot of Mexicans who don't speak English in the US and tell me they are here because they can't make that money in Mexico even though they'd rather be there where they're not discriminated--oh yes, they know how "we" feel about them).
I suggest educating yourself. Learn about the history of one Central or South American country, and you'll see how we screwed them over. Figure out who helped assassinate the Jesuits in El Salvador, or how we contributed to the murders of four American nuns in El Salvador. Learn about Pinochet.
Ignorance is deadly.

Good post elcee8. You ought to read some of the vile posts directed at Mexicans on the other threads. People actually believe they come here to collect welfare and sit on their behinds. One guy even claims 29% of all felons in this country are Mexicans, that they get jobs as nannies so they can abuse children, house cleaning jobs so they can steal the owners blind, well you get the picture. I firmly believe that if the economic situation were reversed 12 million Americans would be sneaking south across the border without visas looking for work.

People get interviewed for the silliest reasons, why exclude Paris Hilton?
P.S.
Nice article. I admire your mother.

A little perspective is needed here. It may surprise some people but this Paris Hilton person does not get on the phone every morning and call the news media and demand that they follow her around all day reporting on her. Its a decision the media make all on their own so why dump on her. If the media stopped hounding her every move I'm sure even she would appreciate it. What circumstance your born into is just a matter of fate. Alexia's mom could very well have been born a Hilton and Paris Hilton born into a poor Peruvian family. If you are tired of Paris Hilton call CNN,Fox News and the rest of them and complain, you'll get better results then you will if you vilify Paris Hilton.

Tell me something, did anybody force Paris to go to the "Larry King Show" for instance? or twist her arm? No! She went very happily to his show to espouse about her "terrible ordeal" about having to wear orange all the time, and eating bologna sandwiches, with NO sushi or even caviar as an appetizer! Goodness forbid! She is a self aggrandizing little wench who thrives on publicity just so people can get off and watch her kvetch, moan, and feed of they're sympathy, or so she thinks.

Paris Hilton is a welcome distraction from real life. So lets ask the distraction to go to see the troops, teachers and working poor or donate her million dollar inteview salary to a USO show, school or shelter.

Nice story, but what's it got to do with not interviewing Paris Hilton? It seems apparent that most the responders here haven't even looked at the story, they just came here to blast Hilton--and the story has nothing to do with her!
The big question is... is the headline there to simply gather votes? Seems like it to me.

The article is here to show that our society has drifted away from the ideas and people we once invested so much in. Our country was founded by and is still made up of a diverse, culturally enriched population. And that's what makes our country so great.
The United States is a country where if you dream hard, and work even harder, just as Alexia's mother did, you can achieve true happiness here. Maybe instead of giving attention to those with money, looks, or power we should give more attention to the true heroes who make this country great simply by doing what they do every day. Ths country was founded on ideals of hard work and oppurtunity, and Paris Hilton couldn't be more far from that.
Love the article, I could'nt agree more.

The Paris Hilton phenomenon says more about us, than her.
she's 26 and EARNED $7 million last year. I wish MY kids were doing so well.
She is shallow, but smart and has learned how to cash in on us, just like Rosie cashes in on us and Coulter cashes in on us and Angelina cashes in on us and Brittany cashes in on us, etc.
The real question is "what's wrong with us that we pay attention"?

Boycott all the advertisers who buy the slots on TV when the Hilton interview is shown. Also, who cares what lesbian acts she probably committed in prison. I only stayed at a Hilton Hotel once, but have had many meetings at a Hilton Hotel. I would rather never see a Hilton Hotel again.

'Please Don't Interview Paris Hilton'
Seems Pretty Sad that even during a Pre-arranged SoftBall Interview on National TV, this woman Cannot be Truthful?
This shows the arrogance and Lack Of Respect Paris and her Family has for the so-called Little People...
Mr. and Mrs. Hilton with All their Money, did a very Poor Job of Raising this Twit...
In Reality, Paris is Just Another Drunk Driver....
She should have gone right to Rehab like the Kennedy's who always avoid JAIL no matter what Crime they Commit...

"Instead, let's turn our attention to the men and women of the armed forces, and to their families, who face daily stresses most of us cannot even imagine. Or to those who make up the working poor--people who struggle in multiple low-paying jobs and live in cramped housing just to get by. Let's focus on teachers, who shape the future of our country every day."
I'd say damn straight! This paragraph sez it all!
Alexia? It sounds like you're mom is a hero and Paris is a zero. Thanks for this lovely article!
