Jobless Claims Rise Unexpectedly

News – The number of newly laid off workers filing claims for unemployment benefits shot up unexpectedly last week, rising to the highest level in two months. The Labor Department reported that unemployment claims totaled 324,000 last week. Analysts said that the increase did not change their view that the labor market remains healthy.

Illegal residents are truly a disease that wastes away a healthy country. Their allies are the big business that depend on cheap labor and have key politicans in their pockets. If the Democrats can legalize millions of them before the election they can depend on their votes to put them in office. Greed rules, from the peon to the President. It only took casual sex to bring down Sodom & Gamorah (sp?).

True Unemployment in the USA is 20% , even most peole who are working are dead poor with no chance to pay off their debts..With growth in the U.S at 2% I see only a collapse coming very shortly..

As some have said unemployment records are skewed and incorrect. All the data is through Work Force services in all the states and is not a true unemployment or job demand record. What about those employers that don't go through job services to hire and employ the illegals? There is no data showing this.

Then to add to the problem of no jobs for american workers, Utah has decided to go to Mexico to hire teachers to replace and displace teachers in the education system. The governor claims the american teachers get paid too much and he can get teachers for less pay from Mexico. Many qualified and unemployed teachers are already in Utah that has the lowest paid teachers in the country that have been discriminated against for years. Now our state government is insulting Utahns and america by outsourcing teaching jobs in public education to foreign nationals who will work for lower wages, and of course be subsidized with tax funded programs that american teachers can't qualify for.

A lot of people do not know, when their hours are cut they can sign up for unemployment if they are making less than the unemployment weekly maximum. This is called a partial claim.

I think the umemployment rate is about 30% here.

Do the people who are waiting for lawsuits, disability checks and welfare count?

I think I will just wait for a job to come to me.

When their hours are cut- this means they had to be working enough hours to be cut. That is part of the problem.
