I hope that Congress can work together and get a bi-partisan bill passed this year. I think the chances are better than 50/50 that it will happen.

there should be no amnesty...they are afraid to even utter the word. Politicians in the U.S. are so spineless as they care just for their lobbyists and providing workers for their friends.
If you want to see a sad joke....search NAFTA Highway (Security Prosperity Partnership) which is another way of funneling more money into the hands of the rich...nice way of allowing truckloads more illegals into the USA.

Bill Putting Brakes On Trans-TX Corridor Project Sent To Governor
The TX House Wednesday gave final approval to a bill placing a 2 yr moratorium on private toll road contracts. The Senate also approved the bill
Lawmakers sent the bill to Gov. Perry, setting up a showdown over the future of the state's transportation policy.
FHWA Chief Counsel James D. Ray wrote a letter to Michael Behrens, director of the TX Dept of Transportation, threatening the loss of federal highway funds if the legislature were to pass a 2 yr moratorium of the public-private partnership financed by Cintra, an investment consortium in Spain.
Looks like there is going to be a showdown
Did you know: Federal documents uncovered by Judicial Watch quote participants in the scheme as saying that an "evolution by stealth" strategy is being used to put the pieces into place. Documents also speak of developing a common security perimeter & a common ID card for citizens of the 3 countries.

This bill does not permit law enforcement to ask immigrants, aka, Latinos, to "let me see your ID papers". Without a provision to allow the Police to check for immigration compliance, illegals will be able to continue coming across the border and seek safety in the interior of the country. I support the bill but interior compliance verification should be required as a back up to locking the border down. Follow the law like everybody else or get the hell out of America.

((immigrants, aka, Latinos))
You are pathetic, disgusting, and ignorant for making this statement. Latinos are not the only immigrants into this country. People just as white as you (because I'm assuming you're white) immigrate into this country every day - and probably MORE white than you. Europeans, Asians, Africans, Australians...they all immigrate into the country. There are legal AND illegal immigrants from all of these places that enter the US every day. Educate your racist and pathetically ignorant self.

Such a provision would be carte blanche to the police for continual harassment of anyone with a brown skin. Screw that - it is a stupid idea.
And immigrants are not AKA latinos. I have a friend who came here from England. Is he also known as a Latino? I have friends who are latino and whose ancestors lived here since before this was the USA - are they also known as immigrants?
Bloody hell, think before you say these things!

The beautiful thing about "polls" is, they're so incredibly easy to manipulate to support anything you want them to.
The way you word the question, or just skewing the meaning of your answers. Just who you ask the question can skew the results! ("What is the best burger joint?" Ask 50 people in a McDonalds, and 50 people in a Burger King, and be amazed at the difference!)
For example, from the poll: "What should happen to illegal immigrants who've been in the U.S. for at least two years?" You're given only two choices - Deportation, and the ability to file legal paperwork. It says nothing about amnesty.
I am strongly against illegal colonialization, but I'd still answer the second choice- they should be allowed to GET IN LINE like anyone taking the LEGAL route. These "polls" would then be used to claim I support a free ride for illegals, or that I'd agree with bumping them ahead of those who've been attempting to immigrate legally.

Yeah, an important thing in looking at the results of any poll is "where was it conducted, who did you ask, who conducted the poll, how long ago was it, among other things. Ask opinions on immigration in front of Home Depot, and compare them to the opinions on immigration you collect from in front of a biker bar, I'm pretty sure there'll be different answers. Personally, I'm not sure what to think of this, nor does it matter--but as a life observation, if one group says there's too much, another says it's not the right things, and someone else says that there's not enough... well, it's my experience that if no one likes it, you've probably come as close as you're going to get to achieving harmony.
And, "get in line in wait" works fine--as long as ICE gets off their ass and does their job instead of leaving people hanging in limbo for fifteen years.

If you've been paying attention, and don't let bias blind you to reality, most conservatives, moderates, and liberals aren't very happy about this bill. Failing to mention conservatives in your comment makes you sound as inaccurate as this bs poll result does. And actually I'd say that conservatives are more opposed to an amnesty bill like this than any other group. And no matter what the president or anyone in congress says when trying to tell us it isn't an amnesty bill, it clearly is just that.

But the poll showed that differences are not great between Republicans and Democrats on this issue, with 66 percent of Republicans in the poll favoring the legalization proposal, as well as 72 percent of Democrats and 65 percent of independents.
If the Senate still has not completely read though it nor has congress or the MSM so how could the 1,125 adults surveyed would have enough info to give an honest informed opinion?

I think the US should start rounding up all the illegal and shipping them to Puerto Rico, its an island far enough from the mainland we wont have to worry about them sneaking in... and when we round them all up we can cut our ties to Puerto Rico and let the place become a country to itself... complete with a ready made population of mexicans.
