President Bush marked the fourth anniversary of the war in Iraq on Monday as the White House tried to counter Democratic attempts to force a withdrawal of U.S. troops. Bush was expected to issue a plea for more patience in the war, which has stretched longer with higher costs than the White House ever anticipated. The president was to make a state

One thing I've noticed about those on the right, more than those on the left, is the tendency to bring out personal facts, such as weight, looks, religious views, or any other non-essential part of a person, as if that's a major reason not to listen to someone. I always go with what and how a person THINKS, regardless of whether they're overweight or "fat", as FSU states.

Fsugrad? Is this what they teach you?
I hope that you never have a weight problem.
Libscape? There is no difference in parties, at this point it is all theater.
If Clinton were in office and they (the owners of this country) wanted a war we would have been there when he was in office, but the time wasn't right, they had to wait to plan our new pearl harbor, 911.
You are right, but ALL of it is theater, they always do whatever they want because the people of this country care more about american idol and their suvs.

No! A non-event is more like a statement dribbling out from a bird brain like you who would be a spokesman for a failed Whitehouse presided by a heaping manure head, a dastardly criminal, pleading for another brake.
Give us a damn brake! He should be on trial for war crimes! That would be a relieving REAL EVENT!

Is that what you neocons are up to? This is all about starting another world war, with us as the axis of evil?

If there is another World War, say goodbye to the human race, or at least most of it, with the rest probably dying in 40 years from radiation sickness. Ever read The Stand by Stephen King? Think that, but with nuclear destruction instead of a ravaging plague(oh, and most likely without the battle between good and evil).

Don't give Bush any credit for anything..He's a moron.
The greatest military minds in the world (including Colin Powell) know that continuing to follow a stubborn, moronic,
cowboy is bad policy. We ******ed offf our allies.
The only support he can garner now are form those few who would still rather jeopardize innocent lives than to move forward and admit they made a mistake..They
are a sad lot..Oh yeah..Julius Caesar would have been proud to see his son bring Ancient Rome to its knees just to fight Daddy's War, but George Herbert is not that barbaric..
Even he knows his son is the runt of the litter.
If you really want to see how sad of a coward he is, take a look at why Harriet Meiers resigned from her Supreme Court nomination..YOU WOULD BE ASTOUNDED!!!
Sending youth off to die when he never had the courage to do the same.
ps. If the hearings for her nomination ever occured it would have been discovered that she did daddy a favor and SHE got George his deferment while he was AWOL..

ezoncol: "The military build up in the Middle East will position the US for the next world war that will most likely involve China and the axis versus the US and the allies."
What makes you think that the US will still have any allies left at that point?

I think at year 2 I ran out of patience with this guy. I am sure he is a nice guy and all bur he is not smart enough to be president, and the people he has around him doen't have the best interest of the country in mind. They are all abut lining their pockets!
This war is 4 years too long
I will not have patience when 7 more young men die
I will show no patience for the zelots
I am afraid to turn my TV on, I might see Walter picture.
I live in fear of my phone, every time it rings I say oh god please don't let it be.
My heart can't take much more of your war Mr. Bush
I am running empty on Patience, tomorrow or tonight or in the next hour it might be my friends how much patience would you show if it was your loveone?
Sorry no more time!

People have made fun of my patience most of my life...but I have to say my patience on this God-awful mess of a war ended a long time ago! Out by mid-08, I say. Shrub has had his chance...if the additional 21,000 troops and all the new money thrown at this mess doesn't show any results by autumn, get out...out, out, out!

I think they've already decided the 21K isn't enough since with the extra troops Petraeus has asked for, among others, it's about 30K now.
It's good to see the demonstrations that are now really getting going, like last weekend. This war is a fiasco like Vietnam, but it's building a movement among the people (that's just starting) just like then.

The generals have said that only a political solution can solve the problems in Iraq. Dubya said today that the critical thing is securing Baghdad. Dubya is once more pushing a losing philosophy as he is not listening to his generals - where is the political effort? Condi told the new Congress that it would still take 6 months just to train up the state department folks she was to contribute to the surge. The President is failing again by leaving the ploitical solution to the soldiers too! Impeach the failure masquarading as a president!

Its good to see the demostrations that are going on feeding the terrorist free press. Just leading to the fact they they were right and the American public has lost its resolve. Terrorist knew we wouldnt have the guts to finsish them off and it sadly looks like this is true.
Well if we do lose our patience, maybe in 30 years or so we wont be able to have our demonstrations or be able to talk against our government freely like we do today because we are too afraid to stand up against this extremist movement now. We all can practice islam and be afraid to talk about our government in bad ways without getting our head cut off.
Maybe thats just what some of us want though I guess.

Mid '08??? There is no military solution in Iraq. Murtha made that clear in Nov. 05. All along we've been throwing lives and money at a non-issue; how much more patience does our psycho-in-chief need?
