The right has had to deal with the liberal bias for decades and now there is moderate to slightly conservative take on the news the left can do nothing but cry like little babies that they don't get the news spun their way anymore. Booooo hooooo hooooo. Nothing new, the dems couldn't win a debate with a 5 year old so they want some softball questions from from their own kind to boost their morale. I see the candidates now, just before the debate looking into a mirror "I'm good enough, smart enough, and dog gone it people like me".

He and his cronies stole elections...twice. Deal with that! Here is a thought: Remember Ohio 2004? The BMOC back then Ken Blackwell thought he could help rig an election. It worked so well for him, he is no longer in power. (Ken Blackwell lost his bid for governor in 2006.) Sorry Ken!

"childish rant used by liberals who can't face the fact that THEY LOST!"
And you can thank Bush and the unpopularity of his foreign policy for helping the Republicans get evicted from BOTH the House AND the Senate last November. And if things continue the way they are (approval rating ~30%), you'll be able to thank Bush for helping the Democrats win the White House in 2008 too. Deal with that.
B1BLANCER:
"He got elected...twice. Deal with it."
I wonder is that more a reflection of Bush's supreme oratorical skills, or the gullibility of the general public (the southern red states, in particular)? Hmmm...I wonder if Bush Jr. could run for a 3rd term that he'd actually be elected again? If Bush's presidency was such a success, I wonder why Dick Cheney isn't considering running for the presidency in 2008 even though it's customary for the Vice President to seek the Presidency. Why is no one in Bush's Administration (not even Condi) planning to run?

It's because blatant criminals are almost always less popular than sneaky criminals, hence communists (kick down the front door socialists) started out less popular than nazis (sneak in the back door socialists), and Democrats are currently less popular than Republicans, because Republicans at least TRY to lie when they plan to sell out the USA for a quick buck or some political power. Democrats get self-righteous and defensive when they get caught with a hand in the cookie jar, or secret documents stuffed in their socks, or bribe money in the freezer, etc.

The electoral college makes the choice, and how the electors get there is a problem for states to handle in accordance with their own laws - laws that they have to follow even if the Florida Supreme Court doesn't like the winner, like uniformly applied vote recounts. You were paying attention during that election, right?

Nope. And he's not the sharpest light bulb in the sky either. Yet he is 4 for 4 in elections against Democrats, what does that tell you?
1. People would rather have Bush than (so far) any democrat that has ran against him.
2. That blind hatred elitism (I can't believe were losing to this idiot) does not play well with most folks.
3. That Bush is political geniuses cause he has managed to get the Dems to run against him based on his NG service, vice anything currently going on, 4/4 and the dems lost.
4. A vast rightwing conspiracy of unknown people and events! And the lack of any evidences to support this conspiracy proves that it is true!
5. That adhominem attacks tell us more about the person or group making the attacks than it does about the subject of the attack.
(Yes this is the same as #2)

"1. People would rather have Bush"
That is not true anymore. In fact, Bush's unpopularity cost the Republican Party BOTH the House and the Senate last November, and it may cost them the White House in 2008. Even Republicans (like Hagel) are distancing themselves from Bush.
"2. That blind hatred elitism"
Elitism? Bush always has been the frontrunner in his elections because Republicans raise far more money than Democrats do. If anything, it is the Republicans who are "elitists."
3. That Bush is political geniuses"
Bush is not a genius at anything. Rove directed Bush's campaigns with smear tactics and muckraking. So much for the "party of family values."
"4. A vast rightwing conspiracy"
I have no idea what you're trying to convey.
"5. That adhominem attacks tell us more about the person"
Tell that to the Swift Boat Veterans, who torpedoed McCain in 2000 despite the fact that McCain's record trumps Bush's.

Anyone with a modicum of intelligence should know not to link poor oratory skills with intelligence. Take an actor for instance. They deliver the lines with great skill, then you see them give an interview and find they are complete idiots. Bush is far from the first person to have trouble with public speaking. C'mon people, let's try something of substance for a change!

First, Strom Thurmond is dead and therefore no longer a member of Congress.
Second, he was never a member of the KKK unlike current Seantor Byrd D-WV who said in 1945 that he would never fight "with a Negro by my side. Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds."
He was recently elected by his fellow Democrats as President Pro Tem of the Senate. Be Proud.

Umm, was he like current Senator Byrd, a member of the KKK? The answer is no.
Did current Senator Byrd lead a filibuster to block passage of the Civil Rights Act in 1965?
The answer is yes.
Why dwell on a man who has been dead for years when you have a live KKK Grand Kleagle in the US Senate? Perhaps because you are ashamed to admit that he is the senior Democrat in D.C.

Actually, a nonpartisan, peer-reviewed, academic study at the University of Maryland demonstrated that Fox News is the worst at reporting accurate, objective news.

"The polling, conducted by the Program on International Policy (PIPA) at the University of Maryland and Knowledge Networks, also reveals that the frequency of these misperceptions varies significantly according to individuals' primary source of news. Those who primarily watch Fox News are significantly more likely to have misperceptions, while those who primarily listen to NPR or watch PBS are significantly less likely."

They have even passed that point because they are so consumed by their narrow and bigoted beliefs that even those that have been loyal republican conservatives are now seen by them as being in the enemy camp! Look at the attacks on Chuck Hagel - just because he had the guts and common sense to say that Bush is wrong and has overstepped his authority!
Pretty soon they will run out of new enemies to hate and start feeding upon themselves!

I think the evidence is fairly obvious that Ailes and his ilk (under his control) at Fox News HAVE been spinning beyond a reasonable doubt (at least at times), and I applaud any movement at this point that takes a stand in pointing this out. Sure, Democrats can be just as corrupt as the Republicans, but any exposure of the corruption of news media (from either side) is surely warranted.

All this proves is that he's good at sensationalizing material, which may bring stellar ratings, but often runs counter to the goal of providing dispassionate and objective investigative journalism. A better measure of his journalistic credentials is the Pulitzer--the highest award given for investigative journalism. So Ailes has a couple of Emmies and Obies. How many Pulitzers does he have?

Not really. How many Pulitzers have Sean Hannity, Bill O'Rielly, Neil Cavuto, Brit Hume, and Ann Coulters won? Even if the NYT has been around much longer than Fox News, Fox News isn't gaining any ground as NYT journalists continue to be awarded with Pulitzers while Fox journalists continue to be passed over.
The goal of journalism is NOT high ratings alone, but to provide objective, dispassionate, accurate pieces of which Pulitzers are the highest metric. Clearly, Fox fails miserably at this.
