    Ike-

im sure your ignorant remarks will comfort the families of those soldiers... i dont get you... you support this war, and yet you dismiss these deaths as if they are nothing... i abhor this war, and yet i am saddened by the death of every american who dies needlesly in an unjust war.

these soldiers are dying for your wonderful presidents lies. one would at least expect you to show the same support for them, and their families as you do for the criminal who sent them there to die.

    shame on you!!

    >I volunteered to go, but they aren't looking for officers.

That will be my excuse from now on too.

    >I am sure there were more than 13 people killed in auto accidents in the U.S. today.

It`s so strange, as I have heard so many rants recently about Carter blowing the 1979 Hostage Crisis. In the middle of a revolution, with 60 hostages held for over 400 days, and a military assault gone horribly wrong, only about 8 soldiers died. Yet certain right wing extremists still rant like that was the cause of all problems in the world thereafter.

Not to say those eight or these 13 do not matter. They do. My point is to put things into perspective historically for those who have a hard time doing that for themselves.

I find your remarks to be very offensive. The 13 individuals who died were Americans - not cons and to paint them and the overwhelming majority of our troops over there with a tarred brush because of the actions of a very, very few individuals is wrong and you should be ashamed for doing so.

I doubt, however, that you will be, for after reading your comments on several other threads, I have come to the conclusion that you are nothing more than a simple-minded bigot! You really are a disgusting creature!

Bush and those that support him are the one that are responsible for these deaths and they are the ones who ultimately will be held accountable!

Good News for suffering Iraqis. They have 13 less cons to worry about getting raped, tortured and shot to death.

Does this comment surprise me? Not after the way people have denounced this war, calling our soldiers occupiers, criminals, rapists, civilian killers, our own president a criminal (though we all know if it were their president that did this all would be cool).

I have a Cousin still in very critical condition after sustaining burns over 70% of his body. He was one of only two survivors of 12 men in 2 Hummers hit by an IED. All this brave young marine 'that will never be the same again' does is asks to be made well so he can return and finish the assigned duty. You see he and his family knew the risks of what may happen when he joined. Even after hearing you sorry people saying all the nasty things about his Commander In Chief, the war being false and bad, as well as the troops being there only for bloodlust. (continued)

For those that say Bush and we that support him are ultimately responsible for these deaths you are correct. These young men and women joined, knowing fully well what was a possibility and they were supported by their parents. You fools are even intelligent enough to realize that you insult them when you make such statements. For a 'supposed' marine to make such a statement is the ultimate insult not only to those marines and their families, but to the Corp, and this country. You sir are no longer a true marine, if indeed you ever really were.

No the statement above surprises me not, after that attitude is fed a steady diet here on this site and other media outlets.

It's people just like this young man that make up this fighting force, each one joined, not just because they knew they would be drafted anyways so why not be a Marine. These young men looked past all the insidious political back stabbing about this war, and joined to take the fight to the enemy, as he said to his Mom. Why do we keep hearing that Afghanistan is a good place to fight but not Iraq? Don't you back home know that this enemy is there too and best put down over there than in the US? I', glad the young ones get it, seems some long of tooth Jar Heads around here have lost the meaning of Semper Fi. (continued)

How many dead Americans will it take to get us out of there ? 10,000 ? 100,000 ? anyone know ?

Its a really simple question, wonder what our president and his administration would say if asked such a simple question ?

                Is it enough know ?

Yes, they were being trained there,,,

Pearl Harbor was an inside job. Your fabled hero FDR stood by and let that happen to send hundreds of thousands to their deaths, with many single days in one battle exceeding what we've had here in years. But then again, he was YOUR hero and Your war was a good one right?

You fools love these kinds of stories,,, not so you can cry your crocodile tears for the soldiers that (some) you could care less about for the most part. What (some) of you care about is the opportunity to Bash Bush, the soldiers are just the cannon fader used in your charge of the Light Brigade.

Let's not forget we were attacked on 9/11 and lost 3,000 souls that day, we went after our enemy, intelligence pointed to Iraq as well as others. Yes we have lost 3,000 soldiers and any lost is a shame but you know soldiers join the army not to go to bake sales.

Pearl Harbor, we lost less and the nation stood up and went to war against Japan, as well as Germany, Italy and other nations that indeed did not attack us but were the allies of Japan. We lost 300,000 soldiers with another 300,000 wounded, and that with the about the same loss of life to get things started.

There is not one sane person that wouldn't want war to be a thing of the past, if only that were possible. The truth is, sometimes we are drug into these things, we didn't go Willie Nellie into this conflict as some think ,, we were attacked. Get over it, realize that we have stronger souls than ourselves that are willing to do what we won't; give of themselves and sometimes paying the ultimate price.

How many dead americans will it take to get us out of there

How many dead on our soil will it take for you to want us to go the distance is the correct question here.

How many more 9/11s will it take? One, Two, Seven? Or if your child or someone you love dies because some nut decides to blow them up? Will you then want something done?

I'd think you'd be one of the the fisrt to claim your country failed you and be decrying that the job wasn't finished when we had a chance.

Tell me, what is your number of Children dead here that would make you into a Hawk?
