Jan. 1, 2007, 4:40 a.m.From the way the trial was carried out, I recognized it to be predetermined and nothing but a kangaroo court that said "Motherf*****, we, the shia are in control now and we will exact our revenge on you." For goodness sake, they fired the first judge for not being "hard enough" on Saddam.
The rushed execution, the taunting, the dancing around Saddam's body - all speak of revenge, old hatreds and political and religions sectarianism. They didn't even bother to pretend that justice was absent. It is a sad joke to hear people speaking of the Iraquis "healing their land", "moving into democracy" and "finally putting the pains of Saddam's regime behind them." What we are now guaranteed of is a deeper wedge between the sects, and revenge on this revenge. Iraq, folks, has just been thrown back into the Stoneage age, and we, as Americans, will be bearing the blame.

JUSTICODE
Jan. 2, 2007, 8:20 p.m.Hmmmm! If we "rushed execution" in the US could you imagine how many innocent lives will be unjustly terminated??? The advent and the use of DNA in our court system speaks for itself....which means innocent people convicted of a crime based on purported evidence were released from death row and many were cleared and released of crimes they never committed and sentenced to death for. Please, use your brain (if you have any) before spewing out opinions.
