Dec. 11, 2006, 1:21 p.m.You're so right Bobcats. Bush lied. Everything that's wrong with the world today is due to Bush. 9/11 was Bush's fault. He only did it so that he could launch an attack on poor ol' Iraq and have his oil cronies profit from it. Katrina was Bush's fault too. (He has a secret weather-machine that can cause catastrophies like hurricanes.) And he did nothing to help the Big Easy. How dare Bush send US dollars to Africa!
Kofi is a great man. A real humanitarian. We will all miss his great wisdom and leadership.

Dec. 11, 2006, 1:45 p.m.From Annans speech:
"The lesson here, surely, is that high-sounding doctrines like the "responsibility to protect" will remain pure rhetoric unless and until those with the power to intervene effectively - by exerting political, economic or, in the last resort, military muscle - are prepared to take the lead."
Ummmmmmmmm....didn't the US take military action that he is now bashing us for in his speech. Sounds like he voted for the war before he voted against it.politics as usual

Dec. 11, 2006, 3:26 p.m.We are talking about the most corrupt Secretary General that ever ripped off the American taxpayer and honest individuals worldwide billions of dollars, enriching himself, his family, and his cronies.
Bush is perhaps the last honest guy left in the world. Only Annan, someone from the most corrupt continent in the world, could conceive of assisting one of the world's most ruthless dictators in the world, Saddam Hussein, make money by starving his own people.
You need to read something that shines some light on the truth.

Dec. 12, 2006, 10:05 a.m.@Bob - Right on the mark. Especially about NO. Regardless of what people [in support of the no bid contract that Halliburton was awarded to rebuild NO] think, the fact is that it will take at least 5 years to rebuild NO. European Networks have sent several camera crews to do documentaries on the disaster area. They were surprised to see how little has been done, given the amount of assistance possible. Nemo - have you heard the trouble people [who have legitimate claims with the insurance companies] are having trying to collect their money? The infrastructure that this country has apparently works for the wealthy. Being comfortable I am glad that I don't have their problems, but I still think that it's unjust.

Dec. 25, 2006, 9:32 a.m.You are right. I couldn't agree more.
He ran for president, didn't win, the votes were not all counted, he was put in office by 5 friends of his and family, we sucked it up and said NOTHING. We deserve this whole thing
Remember that old saying: every country deserves the government it has? That's us.
The president is not going to be ashamed of himself because he doesn't know what shame is. He wasn't taught.

be careful he is only trying to convince ppl so that he can cover his own failures in the U.N..

Dec. 11, 2006, 3:38 p.m.What a bunch of bulls**t. Annan was not in favor of the actions we took because of his own families corruption. The French and Germans and to a lesser degree the Russians all made millions and millions from the food program the profits for which at least on Sadam's part was used to kill and dominate his neighbors and his own citizens. I call for a thorough investigation of the outgoing Secretary General and his scandal ridden family. Everyone wants to investigate Bush, Congress and God knows everyone else. What's good for the goose is good for .... I'm only trying to be fair here. Lets see how many negative votes I get from all those who promote the new world order. The only good thing about his speech is we'll not have to listen to that lying *** anymore

Dec. 11, 2006, 4:12 p.m.Pray tell....I'm glad Annan is all done...he did his best to ally all the mid-east members to vote as a solid negative block to many resolutions presented by USA's United Nations rep/Bolton...good-bye and good riddance....Kofi, a bloody/bloke, if I ever saw one....he was in on the take of "Food For Oil" scam for France-Germany-Russia.

Lets saty on topic. we'll do evil vs. good USA later However the UN IS a do nothing org. 11 years of saddam doing as he likes oil for food the rawanda ethnic cleansing, Somalia, Bosnia, Darfur, The Isaraeli-PLO conflict, need I go on or should I cite MORE instances of human crisis that they sat idly by on?

Dec. 11, 2006, 3:14 p.m.Hyperbole undermines credibility.
I hope that these outlandish rants make you feel better because they don't make you look believable.
When the USSR was perceived a threat to the west, most of the world was happy to support the US in exchange for security. Now that these countries are safe from Soviet expansion, it is a free for all to fill the void left by the USSR.
The international community that calls US greedy and self serving is itself busy trying to grab all of the power and influence that they can. This was no more evident than when our troops were rolling into Baghdad to find the Iraqis armed with Russians, Germans and French all supporting the Iraqis in activities that were specifically forbidden by UN resolutions that they supported.

Dec. 11, 2006, 11:32 a.m.Finally UN chief lost his patience with the international bully, there is nothing much he can do, criticize America is the only sensible thing he could do, UN is a pawn in the hands of the West, Bush and his corrupt administration should be held responsible for the war crimes committed in the Muslim world, America, and its allies are like those pirates in the high seas of Indonesian waters.

Dec. 12, 2006, 6:57 a.m.That is true. The electorate thought it was better to have higher taxes, as long as it would end the war. But the truth is, the war will not end just because (if) we pull troops out of Iraq. We have troops all over the world and they are all potential targets for terrorist attacks. Whatever the new congress decides, we are no safer with Dems in charge than with GOP leadership.

Dec. 11, 2006, 11:35 a.m.perhaps if Kofi Annan had inspired the UN to follow through on ANY of their resolutions and sanctions it imposed on violators of those sanctions, the US would not have felt the need to act unilaterally. Instead, kofi gave us scandals and wrote letters to the bad guys. How tough he was!
Unfortunately, the UN has made itself pretty well superflous in today's world.

Dec. 11, 2006, 12:13 p.m.don't you think this guy he was a corrupt himself? His speech of bush administration is too late and full of BS..... why bother give a speech now when hundreds of thousand are already dead... he should not use bush policies as a scapegoat in his own failures... if he knew bush admin was ingnoring the U.N. or himself then he would have resigned b4 many were dead....
let his speech cheat no body!!! he is trying to provide excuses for his failures..
-

Lurch
Dec. 11, 2006, 9:13 p.m.The US acted unilaterally because they knew the Bush admin was lying its arse off trying to hijack the war on terror for personal and political profit while the innocent pay with their lives.
You expect other countries to go for that BS? Get real. The world isn`t as gullible as you cons.

Dec. 11, 2006, 11:44 a.m.I'm no fan of Bush, but I'm even less of a fan of Annan and the United Nations. All the grand posturing and diplomatic shenanigans of that organization have not prevented a single act of genocide from occurring, and in many cases, like the Bush Administration Annan criticizes, the UN has only succeeded in making bad situations worse.
Annan has no credibility when he touts human rights and the rule of law. His quote, "No community anywhere suffers from too much rule of law" is a flat-out lie. There've been many peoples suffering greatly under the tyranny of Shari'ah law, for example. And the UN's own track record in the human rights department is abysmal, as demonstrated in Congo, Bosnia, Rwanda, Darfur and other global hot spots, where they've failed the very people they claim to help.
I'd sooner trust a Darfurian refugee with an AK-47 than any high-minded UN sanctions to end Bashir's bloody rule in Sudan.

He could have been a giant, had he licked Bushies' boots or allowed himself manipulated by the western world most importantly the US, but unfortunately he refused, so he is accused of oil for food scandal. He wanted to be honest in his work; the Zionist cannot live in an honest world because they are exposed of their corruption, so the Zionists are angry and mad at him and called him an anti-emetic dictator. You and your Israeli government are anti-gentile dictators.

what about your president and his cohorts have they done a fine job, were they not involved in corruption and war crimes, you expect Cofi Annan to support your illegal invasion and war crimes that your government committed, did you bribe him, if he is corrupt why is he not supporting your corruption, no UN sectary General can do a honest job because UN itself is a corrupted entity with few exclusive club members holding veto powers to twist and turn any meaningful step the United Nation takes in the international stage.

Dec. 11, 2006, 1:27 p.m.Because one Hates the current Admin, doesn't mean they hate America. They are not one in the same.... It should be one in the same... but as this admin as shined on us well too clearly it is NOT we the people..... It is WE THE BIG CORPS and THE VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY WEATHY.... this is not what America is founded on, or how it became a world power.... but it is how it will end.... All Great Nations have fallen under such Greed.
The sad thing is that too many Americans want to support this ideology that has a proven track record of losing.....

Dec. 11, 2006, 12:30 p.m.Hasta la vista, senor kofi.
I understand why you are so critical of the US. They spoiled your little party. I would be mad too, if someone wrecked my very profitable little gig.
Warning to all war criminals, rogue nations, etc. The UN is going to really intensify the consequences for non-compliance. After the letters they send you, they are going to follow up with harsh language. If that doesn't work, they are going to put you into a comfy chair and poke you with soft pillows.
