I was just wondering how big the donation to Jesse Jackson was to allow the apology to happen?

What has Seinfeld have to do with this stupid crap. Not that I liked the show. Just do not hire Richards for anything. All I want is to STOP seeing him everwhere.

A boycott? Utter nonsense! How can Jackson seek to punish collectively? Following his 'logic' the complete cast, crew etc are to be punished for Richards outburst. I have never watched Seinfeld but this seems a complete over-reaction. I hope the boycott is totally ignored.

Like everyone else, I think Michael Richards really stepped over the line in his reaction to the hecklers. One issue that has not been addressed is how we just accept and tolerate hecklers at stand-up comedian acts. Why is that? Why aren't hecklers thown out before the comedian has a chance to react.

They don't allow people to have a cell phone during a movie or a live play. Can you imagine what would happen if someone started heckling and yelling at an actor at a live play. It is not tolerated, and it shouldn't be tolerated in a comedy club.

Again, I am not defending Michael Richards remarks, at all. A bit of pro-action by the management could have possibly prevented this, though.

everyone on this thread I'm sure has lost their temper at one point and has said something that they've regretted... I know I have....and let me tell you something, it's not easy to go back and apologize... but he did, not once but twice...now that he's done that, the same people who were offended, are now saying he wasn't sincere....how the heck do they know if he was sincere?? a lot of them weren't there, and they don't know this person !

Did anyone try and stop the men who were interrupting his comic act?? I doubt it. They are guilty of just as much wrongdoing as Mr. Richards.

If someone apologizes for a wrongdoing and the person offended doesn't accept that apology, then that person is the one that has a problem.

ok- enough is enough! While I fully understand that what Michael Richards said was wrong, these people have chosen to ignore what started this whole situation- "get your cracker ass off the stage, you aint funny white boy"- while "cracker" is probably the dumbest racial slur to hit my generation, it is still 100% a racist comment. The gentlemen who were insulted by the use of the "N-Word" deserve nothing!!! Not even an apology. Has anyone stepped up and asked for a public apology from these guys? OF COURSE NOT!!!!! In today's society, you can be as racist and ignorant as you want....well, as long as you're black and have Jesse Jackson on your side. Jesse knows nothing about the people he supports, just the story he hears on the news!

MICHAEL RICHARDS SHOULD NOT APOLOGIZE UNTIL THOSE WHO HECKLED, APOLOGIZE TO THE ENTIRE POPULATION OF WHITE AMERICANS, FOR CALLING US "CRACKERS" This racial double-standard has got to end!!!!!!!

the best I have ever seen regarding Jesse Jackson:

About 2 years ago, Jesse was boycotting the execution of a convicted rapist/murderer. During one of his MANY monologues, Jesse said "I have sat down to dinner MANY times with the family, and have spoken to this young man (refering to the man being executed) on SEVERAL occaisions. I love this man as though he was my own son"....

To which the gentleman about to be executed, and his family, replied "We just met Jesse Jackson for the first time about 10 minutes ago"- FANTASTIC!!!! Proof that Jesse Jackson reads the newspaper, see's a photo op, and hops on a plane. He stands true to nothing.

I don't think I would boycott anything Jesse Jackson said.

Michael Richards has said that he was sorry. If he has asked for forgiveness for what he said and they don't except it then its back on them.I thought Jesse Jackson was a man of God. Ask and you shall be forgiven. This horse has been rode long enough...

It's been quite some time since ol' Jesse Jackson had anything worth boycotting or slobbering over, so he must be pretty hard up for some notice after his last vacation from ranting and raving over the white devil crap. Just more garbage falling off the garbage truck, landing in our yards to be picked up by us, once again. What in the world does any of this have to do with any television programing? I would vote that producers of television programs stop the use of any nasty words, when the music industry leads the way. Stop all the rap crappers from using the words first, and then we might have something to discuss. People like this make civil rights, the punch line in some bad joke. Someone should explain what the word equality really means to this jerk.
