During the Cold War, uranium mines left contaminated waste scattered around the Navajo Nation. Homes built with it silently pulsed with radiation. People developed cancer. And the U.S. did little to help.

    How sad. Couldn't the radiation level have been measured?

      I think this is one of those instances where when the government realized what was going on, they weighed what bringing the story to light would to... to their jobs and quotas... It sounds like a 'let it be someone elses problem'.

      Plus, if I do believe my studies, is not Indian Reservations under Federal juristiction? There is a bureau that initially was created to irridicate the indians and later was then put incharge of them. Irony huh?

      I think that this is very sad... what can we do to make our voice heard?

      Jesse Jackson? Does not the rainbow include us, the Native Americans (Indians)? Where are you and Al?
