Aug. 18, 2006, 1:58 p.m.Saw this on CSPAN in its entirety including the long walk away from the microphones with his entourage. President Bush looks both grim and mad as he walks away. In his statement, he says he feels that he will prevail in the court above that one on appeal. Brian Lamb had a call-in about this issue on CSPAN and basically wanted viewers comments as to weather the decision made and the decision from the higher court would be a political one. He stated that the appeal court is predominantely Republican appointees. The federal judge who made the decision in question is a President Carter appointee.

Aug. 18, 2006, 4:22 p.m.I trust my government more than terrorists. It's a shame you don't. That's why the Left is so distant from reality. You blame George Bush as the culprit instead of the terrorists who make it clear of their ambitions. You base your arguments on what "could happen" if we sacrifice just a speck of privacy (which will never affect you anyway, so long as you're not plotting anything), as opposed to what is happening right now. We are at war. Understand it and stop your whining.

Aug. 18, 2006, 4:53 p.m.How do u know someone is a terror suspect? Suspicion or probable cause, right. If they have either than they can get warrant. In an exigency they can even put a tap on 72 hours b4 getting a warrant. In addition, out of the thousands of requests made by the administration the FISA court has only rejected a handful of requests. Why would the administration want to circumvent what is a very lax and liberal system? There can only be a couple of answers - they don’t have probable cause or they’re spying on folks that the court wouldn’t approve of like political opponents and reporters. It’s nothing new - power without oversight corrupts absolutely. It was that way 1000 years ago, 200 years ago and will be 100 years in the future.

Aug. 18, 2006, 5:01 p.m.The Brooklyn Bridge would be no more if it weren't for this surveillance. This is a FACT. What is a theory is the idea that the government is plotting to spy on decent citizens. Why don't you get that? What's it gonna take? I wish all you Lefties lived in NY so you could experience terrorism. I know the Manhattan elite make this a Lib town, but the blue collars understand the reality of the situation.

Aug. 18, 2006, 5:33 p.m.Dumbya strongly disagrees with the Bill of Rights, so what else is new? Here are his own words regarding the US Constitution: "It's just a goddamned piece of paper!"
Predictably, Dumbya "disagrees" with the judicial branch's interpretation of the law. Unlike Dumbya, the jurist did not hallucinate Constitutional provisions and statutes granting the dictator powers that don't exist. Consequently, Dumbya violated his Constitutional oath of office - an impeachable offense if ever there was one.
The Repugnants, however, have done everything possible to violate their oaths of office and abrogate their Constitutionally charged duties of oversight. Instead, they continue to build a firewall around the criminality of the Dumbya junta.
Specter has currently floated a bill that is essentially a wrecking ball to the protected rights of all Americans.
Dumbya rationalizes his unconstitutional acts by saying we're at war - meanwhile he's been on vacation more than any president in history.

Aug. 18, 2006, 6:15 p.m.It continues to baffle me how some people are so blind in following and defending whatever Bush and the government do.
Are they really so afraid of any possible change to their immediate environment?
Are they just afraid? Because fear is the only factor that could possibly lead to the following of this insane agenda
Logic, common sense and reality seems to have completely gone, let alone introspection.
Unbelievable
