Aug. 17, 2006, 2:38 a.m.Hoping this gets pinned soon. Awesome (I just hope it's genuine; after all this time, a false confession would really suck!)

Aug. 17, 2006, 3:50 a.m.Glad it's over with... Finally. But out of curiousity, I wonder what is reason was...

Aug. 17, 2006, 4:13 a.m.What are the media and authors (who were obsessed with calling the mother as the murderer) going to say? Andrew Hodges apparently had enough "evidence" to write 2 books!

Aug. 17, 2006, 6:51 a.m.It's amazing the police because of inept police department investigators, and political prosecuters, who wanted to get there name in the papers tried to pin this on the parents.
Fortunately they had the money to fight, had it been an ordinary citizen they would have been on death row.

Aug. 17, 2006, 7:16 a.m.I think a lot of people (including the media) owes the Ramsey family a "Public Apology".

Aug. 17, 2006, 7:17 a.m.How does one know he did this and is not trying to get out of Thialand or where ever he was. Something about this sounds fishy to me. And if he's not been in that house, how did he know where things were? I won't bet on his guilt till I see for sure that he has done this. After all, we have had people say they have committed crimes they did not do.

Aug. 17, 2006, 7:47 a.m.I agree with CriticalRage, it is a relief to have this over in some strange way. The whole event was bizarre, from JonBenet's life to all of the mystery over her death. Glad it is over.

Aug. 17, 2006, 7:52 a.m.I agree that it sounds strange,BUT I really hope he is who they been looking for! Too bad it has been so long.

Aug. 17, 2006, 7:55 a.m.If the confession proves to be valid, and the mongrel gets convicted, watch those media personel who were ready to crucify the kids parents, jump on the band wagon and scream bloody murder.
An apology is too late... one parent is dead.
Again, dependant on the confession being validated,
I hope those "journalists" who placed the family in such deep anguish can sleep at night.

Aug. 17, 2006, 8:32 a.m.The news media and the police had publicly tried and convicted the Ramseys and had put those people through hell. John Ramsey having to sell his multi-billion dollar business because of what happened, all because of the news media and the police. Apparently, the Ramseys ended up broke.

Aug. 17, 2006, 8:49 a.m.To bad the mother of the child died before she got to see justice served. I think it is great that this freak is going to finally get what is coming to him.

Aug. 17, 2006, 9:05 a.m.We are so tired of this Jon benet deal. it happened 10 years ago. Why is she treated like royalty? Why is her story so much more important than others who suffer the same fate? We're tired of all of the sensationalism.

Aug. 17, 2006, 9:13 a.m.I agree with johno. Enough already.
Having said that, I'm glad they're taking this frigging pervert off the streets. It's no coincidence he was caught in Thailand, the kiddie porn capital of the world. The AP said rooms in the "guesthouse" where he was arrested rent three hours at a time. I hope they cut his balls off.

Aug. 17, 2006, 9:35 a.m.Once he's executed he and Patsy can spend time in hell together talking about the child. He'll be there for murdering an innocent child and she for being the kind of mother who dresses a 6 year old like a ****** to publically dance in front of perverts like him instead of letting her have a childhood.

Aug. 17, 2006, 9:39 a.m.It took so long because all of the people here wanted a human sacrifice, the Ramsey's and their daughter, and that means YOU!
You are the same people who wanted a human sacrifice in the OJ Simpson case, the Michael Jackson case, but not in the case Christina Smith and the other mother who both admitted murdering their own children. You wanted the sacrifice of the innocent.
The truth is there are about 50% of the population out there who cheer on crime, war, death, and evil, simply because they're personal lives are so frustrating they want it taken out on someone, anyone, and to hell with everyone but themselves.
These are the same people who are anti-smoking Nazis.
The self-righteous made it take so long, the perfect people who don't smoke, don't drink, don't do drugs, but approve of bombing babies in Iraq, using headshots by assassins to mete out justice, and generally live their lives in a prosac stupor.
Who's guilty? You're guilty if you believed the Ramsey's did it.

Aug. 17, 2006, 10:08 a.m.Secondly, Karr is suspect in the murder of another child, Paula Klass. If Karr also murdered Klass, then the F.B.I, has a child serial killer on their hands with Karr. His profile fits like a Hanibal Lechter character; he takes jobs around children, he acts and seems timid, he has the high profile of a teacher, it all fits the criminal activity.
Either his ex-wife is lying about his whereabouts on the night in question, or Karr himself is lying. Why would he lie after confessing? Then, what would the ex-wife gain by lying? His brother as well, who apparently is making money off of books in the case, also suggests that Karr's statements are somehow misprinted; did Karr's brother make money off of the heinous crime from the beginning? What did both his ex-wife and his brother know, or were they covering up something they knew or particpated in themselves? His father noted that he had studied the case, well, that's one way to cover writing a book about your crime.

I just saw a video comment from him. He said he contacted the mother before she died, and apologized. Said the death was an 'accident.' What a bizarre man.

Aug. 17, 2006, 10:20 a.m.Patsy [and John] was the accused for a long time, for her daughter's death and the common person will never understand what that feels like, including myself. Patsy was united with JonBenet at God's will and together they are getting justice; for themselves and for the rest of their family and friends. Rest in peace and God Bless, it's time to rejoice now.

Aug. 17, 2006, 10:28 a.m.The reason why this has drawn so much attention is because the news media, the cops, and the public pointed their fingers at the Ramseys, maybe because they were jealous of who they were. John Ramsey built his own business into a multi-billion dollar business and Patsey Ramsey was a fomer beauty pageant winner and JonBenet was also a beauty pageant winner.

Aug. 17, 2006, 10:46 a.m.I too am sick of hearing about this case. Not only did her parents have enough money to keep them out of jail, they also had enough money to keep it in every newspaper and tv in the country. i still have a gut feeling that her parents are somehow involved in it. For there to be no forced entry, and for the father to be the one to find the body, it just doesnt add up. I hope they hang him high, and I hope that mothers that basically pimp their little girls out to win a trophy will reconsider and remember that we have a country full of pedophiles that thrive off of those kinds of things. Until our society steps up and gives child sex offenders the most strict of punishments, im afraid that it will never stop them.

Aug. 17, 2006, 10:49 a.m.if this case is indeed over,it time for the deflamation suits against the media to begin, and rightfully so for the way they took it upon themselves to try and crucify her family..

Aug. 17, 2006, 11:05 a.m.This is strange. I'm not too sure about this. I actually kind of like the theory that he is saying this to get out of Thailand. You notice, when he confessed, he was escorted by the US to a "guesthouse," probably complete with Television, good food, and a bed.
Oh, and someone mentioned he is the lead suspect in the Polly Klass case?? The article doesn't say that, it just says he was interested in the case and read about it. Just because he confessed to the Ramsey murder doesn't mean he has committed every mysterious child murder since 1993. I also find it interesting that his wife gives him a rock solid alibi, saying he was in Alabama at the time of JonBenet's murder.........
