Aug. 11, 2006, 3:31 p.m.If I wanted to inform myself, why would I go to Time magazine? If I want to inform myself, I'd use a search engine to find Noam Chomsky's take on it, then see what the U.S. media was saying, and then go the middle way. Hello.

"U.S. televised media" and "informing," is an oxymoron. Those words can't go in the same sentence together.

Aug. 11, 2006, 4:07 p.m.i think they should stall and wait for the ground invasion, the only way to send a message to these fanatics is to invade the homeland.

Aug. 11, 2006, 4:48 p.m.Muslims can't be trusted whether they're newcomers or second generation. The lefties preach that Muslims are just like us, but they're not. Very few come out of the woodwork and and make statements against terrorism.
They're more likely to say America's foreign policy is wrong or Israel is at fault, etc. or everyone's to blame except themselves.
We've gone to these countries and tried to win their hearts with our medicines and technology and we've taken large numbers into our homelands. Our payment from them has been death and destruction. It's time the west got back to basics. Find alternatives to their oil and get the heck out of the middle east. Leave the wackos their to chop off their own heads.

Aug. 11, 2006, 5:11 p.m.The following is the only info on the long article about what happened in Italy in case that is what you were interested in finding out: "Police in Italy arrested 40 people in a security crackdown after the thwarting of airline plot, the Interior Ministry said, but it did not link them directly to the London case. The arrests were made at "Islamic gathering places" in several cities on charges of violating residency rules or committing property crimes, it said." Everything else is stuff in England and Pakistan. Also, article implies that since we had chatter on line the US was somehow involved in breaking the case. Sounds to me that MI5 was on the ball and had been following this plot for a while. The arrests in Pakistan escalated the plan of the plotters in England and therefore led to the current arrest. MI5 restrained themselves to be sure that they would know all before they moved. Thank you MI5. Will wait to see if there is anything serious in the Italy story.

Why would the US leave the middle east when both the president and vice president own oil companies? Dick Cheney's Halliburten stock tripled during the Iraq War. And do not generalize that all Muslims can't be trusted. That's exactly the kind of misguided hate that blinds American's.

Aug. 11, 2006, 5:20 p.m.Oh dear God, another idiot 911 conspiracy. What keeps this cult going ... Entropy ? I am truly beginning to think that people like you are part of the terrorist movement. Just the news in the last two days should silence a rational person if they sincerely believed that the attack on Sept. 11, 2001 and the war effort in Iraq was a government/Bush and republican lie.
But then Entropy why am I even talking, you nor your contingent appear to be rational anyway.

Aug. 11, 2006, 5:22 p.m.Emckane you are on track I could have not said it better Muslims are still living in the seventh century and they are bent on our destruction.
This is an islam against Judeo/Christian war and the sooner people realize that the road to peace is total destruction of our enemies the better off we will be. The more I hear of people who live in this country and hate it the more I am convinced they should leave!

Aug. 11, 2006, 5:32 p.m.William Sire:
What keeps the 9/11 Truth Movement going? Maybe the 100 Million Americans looking for the truth behind the attacks on 9/11. 1 of 3 Americans are aware of the cover up on 9/11 and that number grows everyday. And do not call us a cult just because you lack the intelligence to understand it.
How can you say the Iraq War was not a Repupblican lie, let alone 9/11??? Where are the WMD's bush swore Saddam possesed? Even the Iraq lie is mainstream now.
If YOU were rational you would research, 9/11 but instead you rely on American media for all your information. Make intelligent responses instead of ignorant blanket statements such as another "idiot conspiracy."

Lawman. have you heard about CIA involvement in rolling up the plot? I thought it was Brittish secret services to roll up such things, not the CIA. So, Bush's diligence hasn't got squat to do in UK matters. Any claim to the opposite is just opportunism for electoral benefits.
ehm, I think the title of this article is wrong. A mere paragraph is about italy.

Wasn't really implying anything. Seems no matter what the President does he's not going to change the minds of the Bush-haters and the ignorant and uniformed. Especially those who are so damn stupid as to believe the goverment had anything to do with the 9/11 attacks. And I wouldn't care if the 99% of Americans believed it were true. Just because people thought the world was flat at one time didn't mean it ever was. I'd accept the existence of Big Foot, little green aliens, the Loch Ness monster, the tooth fairy, and an honest liberal before I accepted one iota of the conspiracy crap that's being perpetuated by these godless lunatics.

Aug. 11, 2006, 5:54 p.m.We should be spending all the money and energy we're exhausting on a war we started in Irag, on fighting terrorists instead. There should have been 50,000 more troops hunting for Bin Laden instead of starting a civil war in a country with no weapons of mass destruction. Instead, Bin Laden is alive and well. Why doesn't Big George want him captured? He had no trouble finding Saddam. Is he saving that for a last minute election surprise? Or does he need a face on the enemy to continue his fascist takeover of America? Osama is alive and well. Why do the Bush backers let him off the hook for that?

ratings. Don't forget the 2000 election was kinda 50/50. And don't forget 9/11 gathered support for this president whose ratings were slowly declining. 9-11 may have been staged, most likely not. 9-11 may have been discovered and ignored, most likely it is.
In any case, 9-11 did help rally support for Bush, and allowed him to position himself as a good war leader. Or is there anyone that disagrees? Is there anyone saying ratings for bush didn't skyrocket after 9-11? So, he had something to win. Which doesn't mean he staged it.
