US rushes Precision-Guided Bombs to Israel »

To their credit, the Times did report that the arms purchase contract was made last year; shipment of these arms in response to a request to expedite shipment.
The armaments are "smart" weapons that can help to minimize collateral damage. Or perhaps all you people who are ashamed of being Americans would prefer we shipped "dumb" rockets, as apparently Iran and Syria have to Hezbollah, and the Israelis can indiscriminately kill people.
Why is it O.K. to target and kill Israeli women and children and not accidentally kill a civilian that a coward hides behind?

Is Lebanon still a country? Should what's left of it be divided into two parts, the southern part becoming a no-mans zone and left completely unoccupied by civilians, at least until the government of Lebanon can control all military forces within it borders?
Clearly Israel is not going to tolerate its increased vulnerability, and the Bush administration is going to give Israel the freedom to decide what is best for Israel.
A lot of Americans believe that 9/11 gave us the right to intervene in countries (Arab/Islamic) where fundamentalists have thrived and are capable of inflicting serious pain outside their borders. Who allowed such a situation to develop? It was religious based (Islamic) governments who failed to control their own citizens. In closed societies (e.g. no freedom of the press), radical groups quickly learn how to promote ideas that lead to violence.

Israel will finally recognize Jesus as the Messiah (Zechariah 12:10). Israel will be regenerated, restored, and regathered (Jeremiah 33:8; Ezekiel 11:17; Romans 11:26).

I'm not clear on why they could be against freedom and peace but I quess killing women and children, chopping off heads, wanting to rule the world clouds one's judgement. There are a great number of Americans that would gladly hunt down all of the nut jobs so the rest of the planet could get down the improving everything rather than playing Jihad all the time.

You all condemn the US, but I would like to see just ONE of you go to the Iranian Mission to teh UN in NY, or to an Iranian Embassy and protest their funding and inciting Hezbollah to create a crisis.
Even without Israel, the Arabs/Muslims would have crisis.
Do you think the split between Siiah and Sunni was because of the Jews? Learn some history.

I'm glad that we are supporting another countries efforts in fighting terrorists. I would much rather send them supplies, than to send our troops!

They are fanatical crazy people with two objectives. 1) Kill Israelis 2) Kill Americans. Do any of you clowns realize how many of Hezbollah there are in this country? Israel is doing good! They are our allies.

July 23, 2006, 11:27 a.m.First let me say that I am an American and I love America very much. That being said, this whole situation sickens my soul. I grew up in the midwest and new only what the American media chooses to share with us. It was only after I moved to the DC area in 2001 that I learned the truth about the issues concerning the Arab people. Our government is doing a huge disservice to our country by blindly defending Israel all the time. If this had been any other country we would not be responding this way. The hypocrisy of our government never ceases to amaze me. They continue to create enemies around the world by ignoring the real humanitarian issues at hand in the Arab world, all for the selfish sake of financial support from the lobbyists so they can keep their political offices. What good is it to have elected officials who don't represent American values? There is such a slant on what our media allows us to see. No wonder the average American is ignorant to the concerns of the Arab world.
