"I've never blogged before, so forgive me if this rambles. But as we rushed off to feed tape and throw the rest of our gear in the van to make the next flight to the next story, I am still thinking of that couple, people for whom this war isn't dramatic pictures and adrenaline."

Just let them "duke it out" and we will support the one left standing. I'm sick of them already. I've been hearing about them for years and they are using the United States as their stooge. When will we learn?

Take care of yourself out there!

I would like to know if you see the Lebonese Army acting: In support of Hezbollah, neutral action, or acting to interdict Hezbullah operations?

Do you get a sense that the Lebonese understand that the hardships they are now experiencing are: The direct result of their tactic support of Hezbullah; or, do they feel this is an over reaction by the Israelis?

The hardships the lebanese people are experiencing is NOT because they back and support hezbollah. For the most part they do not support them at all. It's just that they are mostly poor and can not build any kind of coup to overthrow them without being slaughtered themselves. Please do your research before you speak out of line. Most of you liberals do that anyway - speak out of line that is. You never do your own research, you just listen to the liberal propoganda media and go with it. You liberals are so lazy that you would rather watch reality t.v. all night instead of doing research and then pick up a copy of the NY Times in the morning for your political intelligence and pretend you all know what the hell is going on in this world. Shame on you all.

Hey freedomfighter, get a grip! No one cares about reading your rants. If you have something worthwhile to say, say it. When you berate people, it only makes you look foolish. The Lebanese people allowed Hezbullah to come in and flourish in the southern part of their country. What is happening to them is a direct result of their hatred of Israel. Where do you think a bunch of radicals got 13,000 rockets in the first place? Walmart? Wake up sport. The rest of us have.

                    Great. Now it works.

Hezbollah is backed by Syria and Iran. It's not a movement of local Lebanese mad at Israel. And they're definitely not firing Wal-mart rockets, they are from Iranian and Syrian sources. An Israeli ship was hit by an Iranian C-802 anti-ship missile (originally purchased from China) launched by Hezbollah. This is a sophisticated system requiring a large launch platform and extensive guidance equipment. These aren't bottle rockets from the corner fireworks stand. Iranian personnel were probably needed to operate the missile system and are probably present in Lebanon right now.

Keep in mind that Syria has dominated Lebanese politics for over 2 decades and has had a large military presence there as well for about as long. Remember the Hariri assassination? Lebanese politician who aren't loyal to Syria don't last very long.

Hezbollah is a proxy organization controlled by Iran and Syria. What the Lebanese people want is irrelevant.

It is about time that you all realised that a cowardly race (religious fanatics) with better language and lobbying skills than the Arabs are of no use to us or anyone else they have befriended (for want of a better term)in history.

The Jews are collectively responsible for their treachery towards us wether the Rosenbergs, Pollard, or ordering of the destruction of the USS Liberty, the deliberate concealment of intelligence that led to the massacre of marines in Beirut, the shooting of western reporters and complicity in 9/11.

Fake American accents these trash of humanity do not deserve anyones support. Let Hezbollah whom they trained to get rid of the PLO now join the Christians they kill whom they betrayed in SLA finish them off.

We believe their propaganda too much. They are trash and should not be tolerated in the US either. If they want a state get them out of our homes so they do not use us anymore. We need world peace and cheaper oil. Not expensive Jewish defence.

Rabbi (Rabbi?) this sounds like anti-semitic propaganda. I'll be the first to admit that Israel hasn't been a perfect ally over the years. They do spy on us and I'm pretty sure they sold US technology that was in their Lavi fighter to the Chinese who made it into their J-10.

When you start calling them "a cowardly race" or the "trash of humanity" that becomes more than a discussion of legitimate complaints about Israeli conduct. You are just slinging crude racial insults. How pathetic.

The reason opposition to Israel is rarely taken seriously in the US is that it so often comes in this form. People can't merely disagree with Israel. What you get is this rabid anti-semitic crap that people dismiss immediately. And people will go on supporting Israel because they behave like a sane and rational country, and their neighbors do not.
